It comes down to how you are at making hard CHOICES

If flown from your home tomorrow, having to parachute from 30,000 feet, Which choice would or could you make?

Your wife and Twin brother also jump with you, all three at the same time, adding all three are professional, licensed jumpers. One on each side of you.

123, Pull.  Your chute opens, buy yes, both theirs do not.  Second emergency pull, still nothing.

The maximum weight for your shoot barely piggybacks one adult.

You are forced to make a drastic, immediate choice.  No other options are possible.  You have 8 seconds left, who do you save?  Why?

The only post that this thread frowns on, is, 'oh, I can't decide!'  But 'neither' is accepted.

Obviously, sexes are individual & relevant to each person, ie; wife/husband.

when forced to make an emergency choice, we really never know what we'll do, though we may think we do

    yikes

Easy one - SAVE YOURSELF!  Why?  At least when all is done you can drown your sorrows in the sweet ecstacy of chocolate.  Chocolate is the healing sav for all life's dilemmas. smile

Sorry Kim, your scenario is flawed. Once your chute opens, you are way above them - you get almost stopped, and they continue to fall at the same speed. You don't have 8 seconds, you don't have even a split second for your decision... smile

LOL Which reminded me of an old Russian joke.

The guy is trying to pass a driving exam. Instructor asks - Imagine the situation: you drive along the narrow road,, and suddenly you see a beautiful young woman entering the crossing from the one side, and an ugly old one from another. Whom will you hit?

The right answer is "brakes" tongue

LOL Are you saying it does not sound funny? I tried my best with translation, the only next step is explanation - and I hate explaining jokes sad

Oh, and I triple checked my youtube, and found a video that you sent to me back in April. Is this the one you are talking about? smile

It is still so cool to hear and see someone from here, live!

now 4 others too, then there is mine, but can we say, not recommended for adults under 80 and over 81, sure you have already so you broke the rules again!

If my comment wasn't there wtf?  I said how smart of a topic it was and you sound funny lol  just kidding,  but gee your vehicles are odd, yet, I ride a scooter, bit of change

All i got to say to ya'll whole conversation is "WTF" and I'll run that old bag over without giving a second thought and kick the instructor out and take the beautiful women for a ride, but far as the answer to the question at hand, I would definitely save my wife then my kid cause I can always make another in the sack, hahahahaha....

I'd probably grab both - because I generally try and pick up pieces without thinking about the consequences.

So about 6 seconds later I'd probably go "Oh shit, that's right, this can only take one adult."

Misha, c'mon, just pretend, dang should have made different scenario, but still, lets pretend ok?  c'mon!  lol

I would just let all of us die, that way we can be together in spirit. wink

You might not agree with me but at least you can't say that psychics don't think outside the box! big_smile

I would save my wife. I would be able to live without him, but would die of loneliness should she be killed. wink

You would have to understand my ideology about a wife. I know what it is like to lose a family member, more times than I care to count, but to lose my wife...nope, life wouldn't be worth living once she died. That is the value I put on the relationship. smile big_smile

As long as both were within reach I would attempt to catch them both - we could work out the logistics on the quick drop down to earth.

I would not want to live without either my sister or my husband so saving only one would never cross my mind.

  9. Anna Marie Bowman profile image75

I would grab both.  Even if the chute was designed for one adult, or at max, two, it would still slow the descent of three people better than no chute.  People have survived when their chutes did not open.  The odds of all three surviving aren't really that bad.  Granted, all three would be injured, but three people with injuries is better than two dead.  I would risk the injury to save the people I care about the most.

Yep, that's the most logical.  Three sets of broken legs, maybe a hip or two, and a lifetime of cool drinking stories to share between all three.

PS, is it dark in here, or just me?

  11. timorous profile image81
    timorousposted 13 years ago

No it's not you...it really is dark in here.  But that's only because the damn projector's broken again.  Sorry...there'll be a slight delay...

Actually, even though Misha is technically correct, I suspect Kim was merely being hypothetical, as though it was a cartoon or something.  Yeah..that's it...you all join hands in free fall.  Then the last scene is a very high aerial shot (like Wylie Coyote [temorarily] falling to his death, and all you see is a little puff of dust on the desert floor).

Except in this case everyone's alive, but flat as a pancake for a couple of seconds.  Don't ya just love happy endings? smile
