Never ever ever! she said firmly, hands on hips. I am never going to go to this school again ever!
I just got back from taking the twins to their older brother's school where they will attend next year.
Boring, it was sooooo boring! her twin sister chimed in.
As they repeated this again outside, a kindly dad said to me. "One good thing is ever is not very long when you've just turned 5."
Geeze I hope he's right!
perhaps they will have a different perspective when they attend
I think they'll love it. It's a great school that has a wonderful reputation for academic achievements and a homosexual headmaster which is another nice sign of being a modern place of learning.
It is a baccalaureate school and multicultural.
I know one thing for certain about five year olds - you never argue with them - they are always right - thank heavens they grow out of that too - at least they do until they turn 15!
Spot on! I never ever argue with the twins. They form a mob of two!
Being Five
When I was five I had no idea
That I would be able to remember
Being five
Anyone over 12 was a giant
Mostly friendly ones
Anyone as old as my mother
Was two hundred and fifty at least
Cars were noisy
And fast
And scary
But great to sit in
Girls were silly
But I listened to them
I was a small boat
Teachers lived in ships
When I was five I did not know
That I couldn’t fly
Which is why
I broke my left leg
Sky diving down the stairs
I blame the comic I had read
An hour before
I did not shed tears
There was no pain
But I did cry
Because I couldn’t stand up
The hospital had a strange smell
And people I didn’t know
Were painting my bad leg
Shiny shiny white
With a big plaster
That came from Paris
Just for me
That’s what the doctor said
I learnt to hop quite fast
Around the playground
Making other five year olds laugh
Until I couldn’t scratch
The itchy part
So I climbed the school gates unnoticed
And hopped all the way home
Where my mother was waiting
To take me back to school
But not before putting a knitting needle
Down my leg to calm the itch

Good one Ernie..
Sounds like it can only get easier for you as they grow up.
Thats what my little one said after his first day at school. Last week he was running a temperature and we asked him to stay home he said 'NOT ON A SCHOOL DAY'
We couldn't hold him back!!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I have a couple of older ones, and although they are beautiful kids, they sure do lose it for a while in their teenage years.
"Never ever ever! she said firmly, hands on hips. I am never going to go to this school again ever!"
OMG that's what I said every day when I got home from school, but my mom kept making me go back again the next day.
My granddaughter attended kindergarten last year. After her first full day of school she asked her Mom how long do I have to do this. Her Mom laughed and said years my dear. My granddaughter just sighed and said I don't want to, I don't like it.
She will be going into first grade this year. Just the other day she told me I want to quit.
Kids they sure can make you laugh.
You have a smart one there!
They come out with the most amazing things don't they?
Such lovely replies! I had a fun day despite the dreaded gang up from the twins. There older brother superspiderman who is 6 got into trouble at school again. His teacher says he is smart and naughty.
I talked to him about it, but it is still a mystery to him as to why he is like that almost every day!
He is such a beautiful little guy, loves and protects his sisters, is very capable even getting food for them when they behave like hungry sparrows.
I hope he discovers where his naughty bone is soon, the teacher is exhausted.
You are all a bunch of softies like me, Little ones are so funny!
LOL that has become like a mantra to my neighbor kids this year. They are 11 and 12 though.
I am with you there! I have a 13 year old as well, and she did not want to go to high school last year.
Loves it now though!
Try looking at it from the wee ones' point of view. Roger McGough wrote a great poem called 'First Day at School'.
My 13 year old can't wait for high school despite having hated every day of primary. And my 14 year old now hates school despite having loved nearly every day since she started. The only thing you can guarantee with kids is that you will always be wrong but that one day they will grow up and not be the experts in everything
I do not know the poem Cally, but it sounds interesting from the title. I will Google.
I have grown up kids, and 6 grandchildren and agree with you completely. The older they get, the smarter I get.

Have you ever had any broken bones?

What is the worst thing your mother has EVER said to you?I never wrote too much down - but this one might take the prize "You are waiting for my DEATH!!!" I am not. Did it hurt? It did. It still does. I know I am not alone (as a daughter) - there are millions of...

I'm just curious if anyone has ever fallen head over heels in love with someone after only knowing them for a short time. I was camping at a gay campground over the past week, and I met a very handsome man, who I felt an immediate attraction to. You could almost say it was love at first sight....

Christians, could you ever love or even like an atheist?I'm an atheist and at least 90% of the people I love are Christians. I only have a problem with Christians who use religion as a weapon to harm or control others. Obviously, I know Christians can love atheists because, well, all those people I...

The weirdest insult I can remember getting was in a Denny's cafe. My friends and I were hanging out drinking coffee and putting off going home as late as we could. We had one of those big booths that sit a good sized group. We were minding our own business sharing a piece of sinful chocolate cake...
