Many are criticising Beck for having his rally on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's Dream speech. It seems they are upset a white man has hijacked a black hero!

I have never seen a more obvious display of racism in my life and it's coming from the left!

    I'm not surprised, are you?

I agree with you, but those on the left are apparently chargrined because Beck is holding his Restoring Honor rally on the anniversary of King's speech.

It's a free country.  Beck can do what he wants as long as he follows the proper channels.  Likewise, we are free to call it what it is:  shameless self-promotion by a clown masquerading as a patriot.

Conservatives Think Glenn Beck's White People MLK March is Dumb

You have a very curious way of illustrating racism. If Beyonce held a festival on the same day as Ronald Reagan's Anniversary would you make the same argument?

Or are just doing what every right wing conservative does on occasions like these and look for some desperate retribution for crimes agains Republican values?

Quite `sad really. Youj lost the elction Bush was insane and has cost the lives of thousands of your own citizens -guess that's hared enough to deal with. Yet you're big argument here is about a DJ and and a birthday?

My argument here is that the left which loves to pin the scarlet letter of racism on anyone that doesn't agree with them is now looking like they should be the ones wearing that label.

Here's what Al Sharpton said about Beck's rally:

"our impeccable leader"? What did he mean by that? Is he trying to say that Martin Luther King only belongs to people of color? That freedom and equality are only concerns for those that are black?

Martin Luther King was a great man, he's been honored as such with a national Holiday celebrating his birth. He was an honorable man that lived his beliefs and now black leaders want to criticise whites for honoring him? Sounds a tinge racist if you ask me.

If you are a Beck fan, I would be more worried about how he's going to look when it's all said and done.

I think he's set himself up to look very mediocre or worse by planning a speech on a day and in a place like that, a place where one of the greatest speeches of all time was given.

The light of a match is lost when held up into the light of a sun.

He should have planned his speech in a place that could be his own, and time that could be his own.  But who knows, maybe he'll channel Cicero or something and outshine King somehow.  I'm not holding my breath for him though.

Beck is a fifth rate shock jock!

Martin Luther King is a worldwide icon.

    What's missing here?

One thing that's missing is the fact that that 'shock jock' called the President of the United States a racist.

You know the really sad thing.  This pathetic "racism" button pushing by liberal idiots is going to embolden the real racists.  Look at the early 1990's when militia groups sprang up in response to Clinton's stupidity over Waco and Ruby Ridge.  You had a diverse group of people banding together against what they saw as an overreaching government and groups like the Aryan Nation and "Christian" Identity.  Heck the "Christian" Identity movement itself is an attempt to borrow the luster of a mainstream movement in order to cover up the evil and hate these organizations preach.

earnest, I know it burns your lefty soul, but you can't consider someone like Beck who; when he mentions a book on his show, that goes from 5,000-something on Amazon to #2, a fifth rate shock jock.  I know, don't you hate it when facts get in the way of a good stereotype?  What do you care anyway, don't you live in the socialist utopia of Australia anyway?

You really do need to read up on socialism Led

'A diverse group of people' armed thousands of its own citizens and sent them into a war thusands of miles from home and lied about the reasons for that war. Don't recall any liberal involvement in that.

Oh I keep forgetting the war's sort of over and we should forget that as the Republicans and their warmongering ideals have moved on to destabilising the new government because they don't like not having any power or influence over its citizens.

By your reasoning the US under Bush was Utopia! You must be easy to please.

Didn't liberals in Congress vote for it? I know they were given false information, like the rest of us, but some did vote for the war.

I know the speech but don't know the anniversary date.  Gee, I'm planning an engagement party in October.  I hope it isn't on the anniversary of anything any hero did or didn't do.   hmm

(In all seriousness, the world is full of people who try to "get stuff going" for their own purposes/agendas.  Heck, it happens even in "ordinary life" all the time.  All it takes to see who has "an agenda" and who is "just innocently does something" is to look just just past the surface.)
