How about hub pages puts some kind of security system. That way no hubber can copy other hubbers content. this seems to be alot of people copying content. Paul, can you do something about it?

I like the thing Whitney said about making it so you cant highlight text.

That would at least make it hard.

    I vote for that!

yea that's what I wanted them, but there are many other things to prevent this.

Well, if they can make the text get smaller, they can surely do other things.

I am pretty sure this would be very difficulty to do - if the search engines find it, so does everything else.

There really isn't a way to prevent copying.  Javascript impediments like disabling highlighting or right clicking will only prevent the most rudimentary copying efforts and have the potential to diminish the HubPages experience for legitimate users.

Regrettably, vigilant defense of your material is the only reliable route you can take.  It's the price we pay for the many benefits of freedom on the internet.

Here is a nice essay on freedom and responsibility.

I think one could reasonably argue that wanting to make it difficult to steal was more along the lines of vigilant responsibility than a means toward complacency.

The best way to stop this practice at hubpages is to leave comments on the hubs that appears copied material. I did it to one hub that was copied from Wikipaedia. Next time I found similar comments on that hub by other hubbers also. I guess this will discourage copying b few hubbers.

If you think the material is copied, you can also flag the hub as "duplicate".   This will cause the hub to be scrutinized a little more carefully by our duplicate content checker.
