    Hey Hubberville,

I don't read many sales hubs from the many that are written and I know that many people have written quite a few of them, so I have a question.

I just recently did what is technically my second sales hub, however, I also doing different team sports, which is a run-off from my first one.

The clothing line of sports hub is by Alyssa Milano, so my question is...

Do I keep the opening the same? Or is it to be changed?

I mean, she did clothing lines for ALL the sports teams and I'm moving onto the Basketball and Hockey Teams of the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins....

So, can I use the same OP, which is generalized and just change everything else in the hub?

I appreciate all responses in advance. smile

    Thank you for your time

    Cagsil

You can stand on your head and do the hula if you really want to, Cags. smile

While you might use the same approach, I wouldn't use the same text. I'm no expert here, but I would suspect that if the Google-bots don't crawl deep enough into the docs, they might think that they're duplicate content.

    But again, I'm no expert.

      Hey Irohner,

I realize that "duplicate" content could be a possibility, but only so much of it would be duplicated.

I'm only talking about the OP statement, because the products are of a different team and the descriptions throughout the rest of the hub is also going to be different?

I ran across this with my A-List Celebrity hubs, which mostly have the same OP statement for why the hub exists, but the information on the hub is about a different Star/Celebrity.

I'm not expert either and far from it too, but duplicate would mean that there is too much content the same, not just a portion?

I liked your first statement, btw- tongue

Just my opinion Cags, but perhaps using a different opening on each would give you the opportunity to see which type does better!  Then you could alter the others to try and get better result!

I have done this and it seems to work on related hubs.

Hey Randy, I am expecting different results, even if the OP is the same, because the products are different.

So, I am not sure the OP is that important to the rest of the page, especially if they are looking for a particular product line for a specific team? hmm

But, thank you. smile I guess I'll have to try and figure something out. smile

    Hi Cagsil,

Different text, for many reasons in addition to those you and others mentioned.

Readers will be confused if they happen to navigate from one hub to another and find the intro text is the same.  They'll think they read it already and click out.

The more your first few lines of the intro tells the reader "I clicked on the right hub - this is just what I'm looking for," the better.  Try to focus on specifically what the hub is about - not only Alyssa Milano, but the sports team.  As a marketer, you know you're marketing Alyssa Milano products, but from the perspective of the consumer, they will most likely be buying these products not primarily because they like Alyssa Milano, or the clothing line, but because they're fans of the team.

Lastly, one of the most important SEO parts of an article is the intro paragraph.  If it's duplicated, Google et al will rank one above the others, thinking they're all essentially similar.

I have written a few sales hubs, and have never used the exact same  opening paragraph.

If you read them, you will notice that many of the opening paragraphs for similar products are extremely similar.  I write them similarly to preserve a bit of continuity and uniformity, but I feel that each must still be unique so as not to appear overtly scammy to readers who may click from one of my sales hubs to another related one.

Thank you everyone. I'm very grateful.

I have made adjustments to a new hub instead of remaining the same on the OP.
