Keyword reaserch and SEO

   hello,
   
           I joined hubpages around a year ago (diffrent account) and started to get the hang of all the keyword reaserch etc etc. But now nearly a year later I have forgotten a lot of what I learnt. If someone could give me the basics of all the SEO and Keyword Reaserch etc etc I would really appreciate it.

      I'll tell you what...you come over here and wash my car, do my laundry and mow the lawn and I'd be happy to walk you through all of the basics. If that doesn't work for you, you could just do like everyone else and read the stuff that's already here on the forums and in hubs like Peter's.

          I'm really sorry if the request came accross as lazy or pathetic but I really dint mean it to come across that way. I have been reaserching a lot about all the in's and out's about SEo etc etc and learning all the time. I just thought that there were people here like yourself Nelle that could give me more information or help on a very confusing subject. Again I'm really sorry for the way it came across ill think again before posting in the forums for help again. And thanks for posting the link Peter just read it and it was very helpfull I would recommend everyone looking for help on this subject to take alook.

      Please dont ever feel bad about asking for help. Thats one of the good ways to learn. There are many great hubbers that will point you in the right direction here.
      
      Read hubs written by Darkside, Sunforged, RebbecaE (she also has a series of hubs on what you are looking for), Mark Knowles, etc.

   Well you can do what I do write 5 to 10 hubs a day to figure out what works, sit up to 2 am many nights doing research, and if that doesn't work I start all over again.
   
   I see you've just become my fan. I no longer write much under Nelle and have hidden most of my recent work. So I doubt if that will help you much.
   
   There's no short cuts to success here are anywhere else.

          Thanks for the advice Nelle but I allready  stay up all hours doing reaserch. And I started following you because I respect what you have done on Hubpages not because
   I want to copy your work or anything but if you want me to stop following you just ask. My reason for writing on here is because I'm very passionate about health,nutrition and raw food and would like to help people. And I know there's no shorcuts and I'm not looking for one.

      That’s a bold claim sword87 and it made me read your hub. Firstly, it's barely readable, so much so IMO that anyone is going to struggle to make sense of your writing. Secondly, it gives no practical information that will help with keyword research.
      
      That said, here is a real SEO tip for you. When you describe the content of a page and link to it you create an expectation of what that page is about and a means to jump to it. Once someone gets there and the page fails to meet that promise, is barely readable and contains inaccuracies people will simply hit the 'this is shit get me out of here' button.

    A month back or so, many hub page authors responded to a request to point out what hubs best helped them to "get" keyword research and seo.
    
    Peters hubs got the most references.
    
    I used to like to try and explain such things a little more fully, but I  no longer think that is a helpful approach.
    
    If one cannot learn how to search for information on the internet, within a site or at a specific forum , how are they to learn how to be the one who shows up within others searches?

    The problem with many keyword research tutorials is that they are based around keyword research tools. However you need to understand the principles of keyword research before you ever purchase or use any tool. Garbage in garbage out as they say.
    
    For example here are three terms that describe the same product:
    
    Cyanoacrylate
    Superglue
    Krazy Glue
    
    Each term targets entirely different segments of the instant adhesive market and therefore different audiences. The secret to successful keyword research is knowing how these terms are different and when and how to use them.

    I recently read through Peter's hub and found it very helpful, but I have a question. recently I saw a few hubs that repeated the title (which was simply a run on group of words) on each heading and above each photo and Amazon capsule and even throughout the comments section. I found it very distracting and it seemed the author may be taking SEO methods to an extreme.
    
    doesn't Google penalize such actions?

       The 'on page' stuff probably only accounts for 20 or 30% Google’s algo. So other than making sure that your keywords are used in the right places, Page Title, H1, first paragraph etc there is probably little benefit in stuffing a page with keywords.
       
       It is estimated that reading from a projected light source, like a computer screen, is 25% slower than reading from printed material and that comprehension is lowered by a similar amount. If keywords are being used to such an extent that they are interrupting the natural flow of the article then usability takes a further hit and achieving the goals or convincing someone to follow your call to action gets harder.
       
       Don't forget about the 'on page' stuff but use it to build confidence and trust in the reader and if it’s a sales page clearly explain the benefits of what you are offering. Content definitely is King, use links to drive rankings and get your content eyeballed but never write for search engines.

    Select low competition keywords and seo the hub with bookmarking,forum posting,web2 sites posting etc. For kw research i am using google keyword tool and market samurai.

    That is absolutely right. You have to see your keywords and do your search engine optimization according to search engine rules and regulations. Your keywords selection should be proper and keyword density should be proper. Also focus on navigation flow also.

      in the hubs that I saw, this was true. I only read one as it didn't flow and the constant repetition looked and sounded strange.
    
    I do recall when I first began writing here, darkside emphasizing to always write for your audience and to use the keywords as keywords, not for stuffing.  I'm still learning, but I just wondered about that, so thanks for the response.
