Hi,
I was told by a moderator that a hub I posted was "miscategorized" (it wasn't, but there's no way to prove that at the moment)
in any case, I've changed the hub categorization and re-submitted it, but its been pink for days now.
is it possible the hub was just forgotten about, or is the team just swamped, or something?
Whats the average time for a hub to be approved once re-submitted for re-categorization?
Thanks
S
The HP team does take weekends off, and yesterday was a national holiday. I'm sure they'll get to it soon.
The average length of time is about 24-48 hours.
I hope you changed the category, if that was the given reason for it being pulled down. If not, then you've submitted it for nothing and wasted time.
I ran into this problem one time and end up emailing for clarification.
oh, right they are prob swamped. Yes I DID change the category, even though soon it will have to be REcategorized into the originally chosen one, lol. anyway, thanks for the email address too the other day, team hub pages was more than helpful with my hubs and username change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, you haven't submitted it for republication. Until you do this, it won't get reviewed by moderators and be republished. But in this case, the hub is still in the wrong category. Hubs that consist primarily of images must be in the Entertainment > Photos & Videos category.
Also, I wouldn't recommend changing a hub back to the category that got it flagged, after it's been approved. We tend to ban people that attempt to get around our rules.
Thanks for the info Maddie, I've re-submitted it.
Question: How is RE_SUBMITTING it to the ORIGINAL categorie once I can prove that this original category is where it's supposed to be, "getting around" your rules?
you dont know who I am now, but one day you will. I just can't prove anything at the moment
Thanks
Sarah
I'm not sure what you mean, to be honest. You are free to contact us if you'd like to make a case for putting the hub in a different category, but simply changing the category to get your hub approved, and then changing it back after it is republished, does appear to us like willful manipulation of the system.
i had the hub in up and coming celebrities. at the moment as I can't tello you anything really, you had it as miscategorized. once the category is provable in your mind, I'll replace it in the correct category, thats all. its not about violating your rules here
Oh, I see what you mean. The miscategorization was not because of some judgement on whether or not the person in question is an up-and-coming celebrity, but the fact that all hubs that consist primarily of photos need to be in the photo category, as described above, whether the images are of a celebrity or your neighbor's cat.
Can I just point out something Sarah.
Visitors from the net won't really notice or care about the category. They'll only see the page.
The main thing the category will (usually) influence is links to other hubs shown on the right side bar.
And it's nothing to do with the 'up and coming' celebrity. If you were posting photos of an elephant and put it in the elephants category, it would still be classed under the Photos and Videos category.
There are plenty of up and coming as well as current celebrities in there - if the hubs are photos or videos, not text.
Trust me, it's not a big deal and won't really influence a whole lot. You choose to write on hubpages, you follow the hubpages rules. They are there to keep the site organized and stop it going into a state of mayhem. :-) And once you've written another 100 hubs, is one small hub on an up and coming celebrity that gets you 15 views a day going to be such a big deal? Big picture time!
Edit: Just saw your post Maddie.

Does anyone know why some submissions to niche sits are approved in 24 hours and others go 3 weeks or more. I had one that took over 3 weeks , but was finally approved. I have another now that I have been waiting on for over 3 weeks (The one I submitted 2 weeks after this one is already approved.)...

I recently started cleaning up my hubs and I plan to start submitting them to to the niche sites - well rather, the ones that are not already on. I submitted an article this month, however I can't remember which one it was (terrible memory, I know.) How can I know if my submission was successful?...

How long does it take for a hub to be approved once it has been submitted for publication?I've got a couple of hubs I submitted for publication yesterday and I'm still waiting for approval. I checked and double checked to make sure they comply with the TOS. Anyone experiencing a similar problem?

So, I'm working on this hub titled "Finding the Love of Your Life Through Natural Selection." It's not published yet. It's basically about inbreeding and how my little girls are inbred a few times over, and how my husband and I didn't even know we were related until after we were married...
