Hey all,
I have slowlllly generated income over the past 9 months on Hubpages using Adsense. I am at a whopping $21. I have about 33 or 34 hubs published. What do I have to do to make this income increase? I've heard and read that I should backlink all hubs, and then I have heard that RSS Feeds should take care of it. Will someone explain this so that I am able to actually start making $100 a month. Thanks!
In general, the answer is traffic. It is a numbers game that usually pays under $5 per thousand search visitors.
So if you want to make $100, you need at least 20,000 visitors from search, probably more. You also need to be writing about subjects that will attract ads that advertisers are willing to pay for; the better you do at that, the closer to the $5 figure.
Notice I said "from search". Hubber visits do not count, generally.
So - thirty odd hubs need at least 700 search visits each. 1500 hundred would be better. Three hundred hubs need 70 to 150 each. It is just numbers.
For some reason, what you said here really clicked with me. I was feeling not very motivated lately but this has given me a little push to continue. Thanks!
Yes, sometimes it is hard to get motivated when you see nothing coming in. But, I guess what I learned over the years, is freelance writing requires lots of patience and time to see the fruits of our labor! Sometimes a little psh is all we need! *sigh.
Yes, I was wondering about this as well. It seems to take awhile to get that traffic. I just keep pluggin away at articles - hoping to start getting some traffic in! Some seem to have better luck than others.
There are many, many ways to help yourself increase views. I would suggest starting with Peter Hoggan's

Thanks for that resource. I have already learned a lot from Peter's hubs!
How to actually generate income using Adsense?
Here's a hub you can read. Aside from what's offered already.

Here is also another.

Keep writing and publishing since eventually that traffic will start to come in. As mentioned, it is a numbers game. The more you publish, the more traffic you get and the more money you make. Depending upon the topics or your writing style, it may take 100 Hubs or 1000. Some of the more successful individuals are publishing a Hub each day on average. After one year of writing, you will have 365 Hubs and the traffic will add up.
Yeah I think you're all right. It is a numbers game. This all makes sense. I guess I was just looking for a little motivation. Thanks for the boost!I'll just keep plugging away.

I just stumbled across this place and the only information I really ascertained was that 60% of add revenues, but that doesn't really help me since I don't know what it is 60% of, so, how much money does someone typically earn from a good hub? Thanks and sorry for the potential obviousness of...

I'm curious if anyone actually makes money on their hubs. How long did it take for you to make some? Is it a good side income?

How long does it take to make money with hubpages? After 160 views on 10 hubs they tell me I have 0 clicks. Is something wrong?

I've not made any as of yet, but I pretty much just joined. It's nice to see visits from the search engines, though.. That's a good sign of income to come, right? So how much have you made from your Hubs with AdSense?

I have been on hubpages for two months. I have read multiple articles on SEO and backlinking. Ninety percent of my hubs do not have backlinking. But I choose for a while to say no backlinking. It was "different" I thought and "original". ...
