Our soldiers already had to burn the Bibles that were translated into language the Afghan people could read.
Anyone remember this?

So I say leave us ALONE here in the States to exercise our FREEDOM. Obama--leave that Pastor in Florida alone and go mind your own business (whatever that is).
Go mind your own as well. But let me guess, you wont do that because you have the right to choose any religion you want but because you chose Christianity and you believe it is the truth then all others must be condemned.
You are NOT a Christian.
Back off me, Sandra, okay?!
You don't have much reason to say whether I'm a Christian or not, seeing as how you go around this site referring to God as Satan and other totally off-kilter, unBiblical, unChristian hogwash.
I was talking about Obama and didn't even MENTION you, yet you decided to make it a personal thing against me.
If you want to defend Obama, go right ahead and try. But lay off personally attacking me!
What's the matter Brenda? You seem to think it is okay to say horrible and untrue things about others. You even say Obama is not Christian even though he said he was. So you believe you have the right to tell someone they are not Christian but no one has the right to say that you are not?
Last I heard, Jesus said that it is not okay to lie or falsely accuse people of things. If you go by the Bible, then indeed you are not a Christian.
Regardless, I digress. How very Christian of you.
Does that mean there is not one Christian community left in Afghanistan? Were there no Christians to give those Bibles to?
Or perhaps she might get even angrier to know that it was translated into English so the English people could read it too. HOW dare they!!!
Interesting that most of the writings of the Bible came from middle eastern culture that so threatens Christians today. And yet, as Sandra pointed out, it's the FLAWED translation of those writings into English that motivates and drives Christians today.
No wonder there is so much misunderstanding, prejudice and hate between the two cultures.
Flight, they are under Sharia Law, if one of the people got caught with one, or a Soldier accidently let it get out to a civilian, they could be killed for it. In Iraq they had an insident where one person was punished to death for accepting a Bible from US personel. So they stopped.
It was a Typical Army solution, instead of boxing them all up, and sending them out of country to a base for storage and re-distribution to personel later, they orderd them destroyed.
It was done to protect the locals, non combatents from Taliban retaliation.
There are Menninite Muslums and Amadi Muslums there, not many, they are peacefull and some practice a sect of Christian beliefe, but it is hidden. It is death if they are caught. The taliban rule is brutal upon those people. The place is not like you would think , very different.
The read the Bible as well as the Koran and well as the the Torrah...geeze. Where do you people come up with this stuff?
But Dutchman, Afghanistan is not ruled by The Taliban. As far as I know they elected a President, they have a court system and a legislative body.
I understand if the local imams didn't like the soldiers handing out Bibles, but that they weren't able to find a Christian community in all of Afghanistan to donate the Bibles, it's shocking. It seems as if they were all killed or driven away.
The article I found said they could've shipped the Bibles back to America to the church that sent them or to another church, but guess what----they were afraid they'd just ship them back again.
Really sad state of affairs when people are afraid of Bibles being shipped to our military (a common thing up until this current Administration's tactics started ruling America.)
What putzes we have in Office!
Military men forced to burn Bibles, but protect the Quran.
What utter nonsense, dumbing-down even our soldiers!
Militiary men might have not liked to read Bible.
A LOT of American military men read the Bible.

Is the word "unknown" in 1 Corinthians 14?Are you aware that the word "unknown" does not appear in the Greek in 1 Cor. 14? The KJV translators put "unknown" in six verses in Ch.14 (2,4,13,14,19,27) but the word does not appear at all in the Greek text, and of the dozen...
