Pastor Terry Jones of Dove World Church in Gainesville, Florida intends to burn 200 Quran Holy books on the anniversary of September 11. His action raised disputes, protesting, and outrages around the world.

What do you think this action is right or wrong?
Many people think that burning a book look like burning a flag of a country, and many countries burned American flag many times in the past.

if you want to buy a book, even The Bible, then burn it it is your business.  but mankind should care about the feelings of others, so if what you want to do is going to upset others, you should give it a lot of thought before you do it. I would not burn the Quran, because it could end up getting some of our troupes killed by people that so far has stayed out of the fighting.

Wrong! Yes it is your right by American Law, but if a Christian was to follow the Bible, then he or she would know better. No more explanation needed.

If I simply wanted to burn a book ??  I can do that.

If I insisted upon doing it in front of someone, I would have motives For ensiting their reactions?
You would then have to question my  motives and my heart.

I agree with your point! It is about the motive for the burning.

Only an asshole of the first order would do something as disrespectful to an entire group of people as to burn Quarans.  What a jackass.  If I actually wore such a thing, I'd like to beat him with a heavy golden cross.

So when the Afghanistan people made a big scene and burned the American flag while chanting "death to Christians," does that make them jackasses too?

I think that he might by now, know the damage that he did was to himself.

My disrespect for another person doesn't really do them any harm.  The harm to them can only be seen by their reaction which again is self defeating.

Sometimes we know before we speak that the things that we say, will be a lose lose situation. What makes us go ahead and say them?

Disrespect is also considered an action.  It's not only a thought process.  Let me reiterate.  Also "considered' an action.  Sometimes when people try to out smart others with simantics they show what a fool they really are.

I like the idea of QURAN burning. Following the QURAN doesn't make sense on any level.

Why would God, Yahweh, send his angel, gabriel to dictate a totally different message AFTER God, yahweh, had already done what the Law and prophets prophesied? Let me re-iterate that again. God, yahweh after fulfilling the Law (ot) and prophets send his favorite angel, gabriel to dictate another way that contradicts even Gods holiness.

Obviously the QURAN is NOT yahwehs way. This is a false religion and needs to be dealt with once and for all.
Although i do not agree with book burning; Islam destroys religious buildings and writings to erase foreign religions out of natural duty. Christianity is much more peaceful and loving.

It is unusual to find someone in these forums quite so blind and uninformed.  Christians are the reason the US is in Afghanistan killing people, and you want to criticise the Afghan opposition to that situation !!  The rights and wrongs of the situation are not the issue here - it is the mealy mouthed 'we are better than them' statement that sets you truly apart from the rest of humanity.

Look, it's my opinion that both sides are utterly wrong about most things.  The inquisition and Salem witch burning is proof that christians are no better.  If you seek to disrespect anyone, do it using the definition for respect that psudo intellect Jerami uses above.  In other words, keep it to your self.  That way you won't piss people off with your holier than thou attitude when your major doctrines are mostly BS anyway.

Yes the bible is Much nicer!

    NOT!

If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him.  Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you.  You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.  And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst.  (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

This sick psychotic little god could walk under a carpet and not leave a bump! smile

"They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."
    2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB.
