This sure is a sweet piece of news for all the chocoholics. A company based in Armenia has managed to create the world’s largest chocolate bar.

Grand Candy Company has sure lived up to its name, when it created the record. The record breaking chocolate bar weighed an astonishing 4410 kilograms. It is also reported to be 18 feet long, and is said to be 10 inches thick too.

After its creation, the Guinness Book of World Records’ representative Elizabeth Smith verified it and declared that it had indeed broken the past record and set a new one.

The main constituent of the bitter dark chocolate were the cocoa beans and they were sourced from Ghana. The massive chocolate bar weighing more than 9000 pounds would be broken up into small pieces next month and then distributed to the public.

Chocolate is a favorite of the young and the old alike. It has been made and relished since centuries and according to researchers, its first documented use was in the 1100 BC. The main regions of the world were cocoa beans are cultivated for the chocolate are mainly Mexico, Central America and Southern America.

no, not a good idea - you'd need a bunch of people to eat it all before it went stale.  I finally learned to buy small quantities of chocolate because it does go stale fast and there is a huge difference in taste of fresh vs. even a little stale!

In my hands, chocolate never gets the chance to go stale. I buy 300g bars, and gobble them up within seconds ... when nobody's looking, of course.

Man can you only imagine the calories. I would take a chunk home and enjoy. Or you could get the stay puff marshmellow man and two huge grahm crackers and have the worlds largest smore.

Hmmm ... I wouldn't say no to it, but I'd prefer milk or white chocolate - given a choice.
