Propping the statistic up by employing more people in the public sector that produce nothing, protecting corporations that would otherwise fail, and using borrowed money to create synthetic, part time jobs that produce nothing and meeting no demands in the market is WRONG. It's unsustainable and soon the ugly truth will again find her way to the spotlight.

Also stealing credits from real producers such as the entrepreneurs, successful business like Google, small business owners, and Chinese factories that produce US's toys, and giving them to Obama is WRONG.

This is exactly true - but without 'rescuing' the current situation first the whole system is liable to collapse. This may sound far fetched to most people inside it but from outside it looks imminent I think.  The right maintain the fiction through arms production and the aggression needed to promote that production, the left do it through 'programmes' and by having friends.

A serious change is needed and must come I guess, the choices are either change through collapse and recovery or through intelligently steering in a different direction, the hopes for the second option are in Obama, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

As far as I know, Americans still have rights.  your right to believe in anything you want to and you said it here.  I do however believe that "Obamacare" will drive up costs and more than triple the debt for this nation.  This was not created for those with insurance.  I have insurance so why is he involving me?  I hope it works out but as far as I can see it is not a plan.  Keep up the great hubs because real Americans have dialogs.

Caterino - You still have the right to your own opinion - but not your own facts. 'Obamacare' is going to reduce the deficit - according to the Congressional Budget Office - the estimate is that in the second decade it's in effect - 'Obamacare' willdrivedown the deficit one Trillion dollars - compared to where we would be without it.

But make no mistake - I support your right to your own opinion.

Hi Irish! Enjoying your radio show. I have considered writing a hub on health care, but this is not really about health care is it?

    Good morning,

After we launched HealthCare.gov – the new one-stop-shop that helps you take control of your health care coverage – President Obama wanted to be sure you know about this great resource.  Check out this video he made demonstrating the website and learn how you can benefit from the tools and resources on HealthCare.gov.

The Affordable Care Act makes it possible for millions of families and small business to get affordable, quality care.  And HealthCare.gov makes it easy to find out what options are available to you based on your location and circumstances.

The website is a great resource, and it’s only going to get better.

Throughout the site, there are little yellow boxes where you can give feedback and help the website be as informative, clear and complete as possible.  And I know for a fact that the HealthCare.gov team at the Department of Health and Human Services meets every week to go over this feedback and has already made some improvements based on it.

More information for businesses and families is coming soon, including pricing data for insurance plans, additional ways to compare quality of health care services and providers, and new consumer protections that are ending the worst abuses of the insurance industry.  Be sure to check back often as new materials are added.

    http://HealthCare.gov

As the President said, “no matter what your age or situation, there’s something for everyone at HealthCare.gov.”  You can help us spread the work about this great new resource by forwarding this email and video to your friends and family.

    Sincerely,

    Nancy-Ann DeParle
Director, White House Office of Health Reform

I'm sick of Obama trying to overturn "Don't ask Don't tell". I wouldn't want to live in Barracks or open shower with homosexual guys just as I'm sure women wouldn't want to shower with guys who claim to be homosexual.
And I'm sick of him blaming Bush for everything. He spent more in 18 months than Bush did in 8 years! How can he blame the deficit and the economy on Bush! Grow up. Grow a pair. And stop apologizing.

    1. Sylvie Strong profile image61
Sylvie Strongposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Alexius, your spending comparison, which is false, doesn't help your credibility.  But believe it or not, "your understanding of don't ask don't tell is even worse.".   If u have showered with military men, chances are that some of them were gay.  Maybe you should just finish your shower instead of daydreaming about how many of them have noticed the inviting curve of your buttocks.  But to each his own.  The only change will be that people will be able to admit they are gay without needing to hide it for fear of disciplanary action.  Gay people are watching you shower right now!

      1. AlexiusComnenus profile image60
AlexiusComnenusposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Actually you can't argue with facts. He spent $2 trillion in 18 months with horribly government-expanding bills. That's a fact. And being in the military now I think I have a better view than you do regarding "Don't ask Don't tell." If you're going to allow gay people in the army they would have to have them shower separately for the same reason men and women are separated now: It's dangerous to allow close physical contact between people who are "biologically" wired to want eachother. It creates problems.

You and Alexius are seriously cracking me up right now.  You have no idea what "don't ask don't tell" is and keep using your own active status as a flawed argument from authority.  You are afraid that some change in policy will let gays into the military.  They are already there.  You have already showered with them.  Don't ask don't tell has nothing to do with that.

Sylive, military matters are way out of your league and you obviously know nothing about unit cohesion. Sexuality has no place in the military.

Being able to say your gay to your combat platoon accomplishes nothing positive and creates problems within the unit.

You want gay marriage, sure there are discriminatory legal challenges to be addressed, but don't ask don't tell? What a fake advancement that does absolutely no good.

What's your military experience, Raspberry? You don't strike me as 82nd Airborne material. The only problems in military units might come from redneck homophobes. But they will fall in line once their leaders give the order just like their ancestors did when Truman integrated the military. Talking about somebody having a "pair."

couturepopcafeposted 13 years agoin reply to this

There is absolutely no argument against yours.  Unit cohesion is the first priority and your statement is unflawed.  There is no place for sexuality in military but most people wouldn't understand this because of the compromised nature of our society.  Polite society, however, is much different than military society.  I don't know if this idea of don't ask don't tell was initiated by government, bleeding hearts,or gay activists but it sure wasn't the idea of any military.

Gays and lesbians have been serving in the military since Alexander the Great as they do in every other occupation. Your attitude on this is childish and uninformed. On spending, Bush cut taxes for the rich, started two wars and passed a huge recession on to President Obama. Since then the GOP has been fighting just about every measure designed to get the country out of the morass left by Bush.

O my Gosh!!! Wake up America! We are going down the tubes!

  39. rlaframboise profile image58

That is because Europe is full of people who hold a different view of the proper role of a government to the citizens and they pay dearly for it. If you actually study the bill that was passed, it does nothing to address the issues facing the American health care system other than help a portion of the people who were not previously able to get care. We still have the same problems they will just be more expensive.

But the greatest problem is that the bill is unconstitutional. You cannot force citizens to buy a product under the near perfect American Constitution. We grew more rapidly and became a super power because we used to adhere to our constitution. Now we just follow Europe's poor example on economic and social policy and we gave up our non-interventionist ways for our wretched foreign policy.
