   Which beer is tops in your opinion? All beers in general (including imports and the cheap, crappy malt liquor).

      I like real beer! Dogfish 90 Minute IPA is a very hoppy, very strong real ale - their 60 Minute IPA is also very hoppy but not quite as strong - still very good.
      
      And then there's the Stone Brewing company that do great beers - one personal favorite being Arrogant Bastard Ale.
      
      There are many many many many more out there...forget about those Buds, Coors etc - the only international beer that I tend to drink that isn't microbrewed is either Guinness or Bass....but that's when the real ales aren't available!!!

   In my opinion, Budweiser is the King. Old Style, Schiltz, Old Milwaukee come in at a distant second. I'm picky with my beers, they gotta have a rich taste, something that goes down smoothly, I don't mess wit' malt liquor and charcoal filtered brews. Miller brands are alright. Heineiken and Imports are cool, but I would only chuckle down a Corona specifically for the purpsoses of getting wasted.

   Way back when I enjoyed beer a little more than was good for me, I liked Grolsch, Carlsberg Elephant beer, Dos Eqis, and few others.
   
   These days I just buy a six pack of Bud or Labbatt Blue once a year; usually at the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

    MGD is my favorite...but I ain't that discriminatory...haven't met one I didn't like. All go well with Texas Bar BQ!

    Can't cope with the big-brand Bubba beers with so many classy microbrews to choose from.

    Nearly anything that's not made by Anheuser Busch. Bud is made from RICE and is way too sweet. I don't think they should even be allowed to call it beer.

       The best cold beer is Vic, the VICTORIAN BITTER & unless the other schtuff comes from Australia, UK, Germany, Ireland & Tasmania, we should seriously look at what all these other pretend beverages classify as, as it's not beer.

    A cold New Zealand beer is hard to beat, especially some of the boutique beers like Mac's.
    
    International beers - Aashi, Grolsch and BeerLao (check out Dohn's hub on this one!) are all great.

    Franziskaner ( I believe its the oldest active brewery/recipe in the world) so probably gets my vote for "king of Beers"

    My local Ithaca Brewery is amazing, Saranac Brewery hits a couple of grand slams each year, the Ommegang beers are great too
    
    what can I say, we have some great easily found breweries here in NY, makes us a bit picky.
    
    
    for more easily found fare:
    
    Sam Adams Collections - The Oktoberfest is always awesome, the Summer Ale, not so good.
    
    If I was really low on cash or hosting a frat style party we would probably buy a bunch of 30 packs of Labatt Blue or some Molson XXX.

    What kind of context is the article? Budweiser's slogan as the "King of Beers" is just that...a slogan. If your article is pretty much a paid advertisement or a comparison of slogans or beers, then write it as "The King of Beers."

    Here in Canada, we love our beer...it's almost a religion.
    
    Besides the big boys (Molson, Labatt's etc.), there's some fine smaller breweries.  My favourite for the last few years is Wellington County Dark Ale.  Before that there was a superb [stout & ale] brew called "Black & Tan" made by Formosa brewery in Southern Ontario.  Unfortunately they stopped making it a few years ago
    
    I very much prefer the dark beers, although sorry to say I don't like Guinness as much.
    
    We can get lots of imports too, some of them readily available, some require searching the liquor stores.

    I hate the taste of guiness,although i live in Ireland, and everyone else seems to love it.  The only alcoholic drink i can stand is sweet martini, and sweet wine, i know i am such a bore.  I am learning on this thread though.  Maybe there is a beer out there suitable to my palette?

    Fosters and Strongbow.  They're all you need.  Worst for me though is Tennent's Super.  It's horrible.  Just don't try it. lol
