    I know I am not as active as most in the forums, but do follow them when I have time away from my day job.

    When I first started hubbing, I read Darksides capstone hub and flagship hub with interest. I would like to suggest that one of the active hubbers with experience like sunforged,cagsil,pcunix,irohner,thisisoli,ryan kett,relache,Nelle,frogdropping,kidgas,crazyhorse,bard etc (sorry if you arent mentioned, but you know who you elite hubbers are)would be prepared to carry out a hub drive similar to the 30 day challenge but form hubbers who cant find time to do 30 or 60, but could do a 5 or 10 hub capstone series.
    We could have a place to post the capstone links (only newly released)like the 30 day challenge. Maybe there can be a contest etc.

    I would definitely participate, but just would not know where to start with the monitoring of it.

    Any opinions are most welcome.Will check back later to see.Have a great day all.

    Having watched suforged mentor the 60DC - which is an asset to both the hubbers concerned and HubPages, I am pretty sure it's taken him a vast amount of input.

    In fact I'm positive it has. That said, this is a great idea but, for my part, I've no real experience of writing capstone hubs. I could, with a little extra work, probably add a couple here and there and create a couple of series of capstones relatively easy.

    I'm up for being involved - in and among - if others are interested. I like the mutual benefit such enterprises bring.

    Great idea Dale smile

    The 30 Day Challenge and 60DC are very, very different.

    The 30 Day Challenge is an individual thing - you start when you want, finish when you want and no one mentors you or monitors your progress.

    The 60DC is very much a team effort, and you not only have to write 30 Hubs, you have to commit to collaborative promotional activity for the following month.

    So first you'd have to decide which style of Challenge you wanted. If it's a 30DC style, then it's simply a matter of starting a new thread to declare your intention, and inviting others to join in.  Then you can all cheer each other on.

    @sunforged
    Ive been following sunforgeds' plight and I take my hat off cos i cant underastand when the time to write is. Must be exhausting.

    @Marisa Wright
    I would have to say the format of the 30dc would allow any hubbers to start and finish when they like. I like the idea of focusing on one research topic.

    I,m busy testing a home page link at the beginning of my hubs on the same topic (latest engine hub at top of page) similar to a website and finding that the traffic tends to stay and then click ads to exit the longer they stay.

    I'm honored to be considered an experienced hubber and one you would seek advice from. However, Capstones are just that...they Cap a bunch of related hubs together, either your own or that of other people.

    The only problem I find with your idea is that you want to work on only a few Capstone Hubs and I don't see the advantage to doing so, even if you were to network with a few others.

    The undertaking could be a waste of time for yourself and others involved. Especially, if you have a few that are not linking to other people's hubs, but linking to their own hubs. It would be beneficial to them, but not to anyone else.

    So, I'm not exactly sure, how you would work out the final details to do a challenge with. I realize I have over 100 hubs and many of them are related and could very well develop Capstones for my work, but you need original content so as to be beneficial and the method for creating a Capstone is basically nothing new of content. It's a lot of summaries of previous written work, sort of like a directory.

    Maybe I am missing something? hmm

    Thanks Cagsil,

    I see what you mean with the idea not really being beneficial to groups.

    I started a new thread in the knowledge exchange a few minutes ago giving the background that gave rise to the idea.

    If you mix more people involved, the motivation required is unknown, because there is a lot of work involved in creating a Capstone Hub that stretches over an entire topic. I think there are too many hubs to research and narrow down or to incorporate into one hub.

    Using RSS feeds are not good enough, and many link capsules would be required, not to mention the size of the hub might be quite large. To create 5 or 10 within 30 days...could be pushing it, especially want quality of content. You could put limit restrictions on how many links to include? But, not exactly sure how it would need to be worked out.

    I guess that is my only concern with the idea itself.

    Yep.

    It would be to complicated and timing would sacrifice quality in hindsight.
