Recategorizing

   After four months, I have a much clearer view of categories and have started recategorizing some of my early hubs.
   
   I suggest that anyone here the same length of time or longer might want to go back for a look-see at your hubs.  You might find yourself raising your eyebrows in surprise.

   I ended up totally rewriting one hub yesterday. And ammending a few others. And that started much the same as your re-catergorizing. I was just having a shufty.

   I have about a dozen hubs that I routinely go through and recategorize.  It's really simple to do too.  I need to make a sweep through some others.   
   
   To my horror, I had probably 100 hubs that I hadn't put into groups and it took me awhile to sort through that.  I bet I created 8-10 more groups too so that I could re-direct a growing "misc/other" category.

   First, the bad news (so to speak):
   
   This thread caused me to “discover” groups. I have a vague recollection of checking groups out when I first signed up; didn’t see any use to it; and forgot about it.
   
   The good news is that now I have gone back and groupified all my hubs that were groupifiable.
   
   Now for the really, really bad news:
   
   Of the hundreds of hubs I have visited here over the last 11 months, more than 90% of them did not have the telltale group doohickey at the bottom of their hubs.
   
   Are people really hurting themselves by not utilizing the grouping capability?

      I don't know. You could track that in Analytics easily enough.

      I don't think people are hurting their hubs very much. A lot of people wouldn't see a single hyperlink or two right at the bottom of the article, pointing to two other articles.
      
      I think it's just an easier way of checking what hubs are doing what. On my account page it gets a little confusing with 175 hubs, so I use the drop down menu just to view the 'sales hubs' group or the 'pregnancy' group.
      
      It allows me to keep track of one subject at a time, giving me a general overview which I can check on analytics if I am unsure about a change in numbers.

   Can I re-categorize a hub that was reviewed? I have heard that re-categorizing a reviewed hub is not allowed.

      I believe you cannot recategorize or change a hub that has been manually reviewed and approved.
      
      If you do, the original ban will fall back in place - whether that was advert removal or it being unpublished.
      
      Of course you can email the team again and they should have no problem lifting the ban again, just it might get annoying if you do that too regularly, for both you and them!

      ►It puts more relevant hubs on your side bar.
      ►It increases the chance that your hubs are shown on relevant hubs written by other hubbers.
      ►If you have it in a category that doesn't fit very well, chances are that it might not end up in the hot hubs if that category is full of other hubs doing well. May not mean a lot but you never know - it could mean the difference between a hub on the first page - where outside visitors to the site might see and click it, or just another hub waiting for google to get its butt into action.

         Exactly. One of the hubs I recategorized ended up on the top of that page.
