Hello. I've wriiten 24 hubs and I've been on hubpages for 4 weeks, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.
I haven't made a single penny and I've only had 300 page views in total.
I was just wondering what other people's experiences were in the first week. Am I doing something drastically wrong?
Thanks for any replies
I'm not doing much better than you. It really takes time and effort(which it is obvious you spend time on your hubs). It is important to do keyword research and make sure that the keywords you use people actually search for. Backlinking also helps.
Keep up the good work.
It takes awhile to start earning. Everyone is different, but, in general, not seeing any earnings this early shouldn't be a surprise. Just make sure you have entered your Ad Sense code where it has to be entered on your HubPages account. This is only one person's experience, but I had a lot more Hubs than you do now at the end of my first month or so, and I think I had $2 and change for earnings. Since I didn't know how to create the right kind of title and didn't bother using keywords (because I didn't think anyone could really earn anything on a site like this), I probably could have earned more - but still, new Hubs take a while to get picked up. Chances are, the only thing you're doing wrong is expecting to see earnings in the first month.
It took me at least six months to see anything more than a few pennies through Google Adsense! Just keep on plugging away and producing quality hubs and eventually you will see the benefits! Like anything in life, hard work is what it takes - HP isn't a get rich quick site!
It takes time to start earning.Just now concentrate on writing good content articles. You will getting a good income after 2-3 months.
SummerTime welcome to HP,
Yup, Listen to Lisa.. she is right, the only thing that is wrong is your expectation. It does take time.. just keep on working do keyword research and you will be on your way! Don't get unduly stressed out on this, don't worry about the money it will come..
I know it can be frustrating. I did really well over the summer because one of my hubs was a place to visit for the summer. Things have slowed down a bit. I am here 6 months and no payout yet. So don't give up it just takes time.
I think you have massively underestimated the amount of time, research and effort which you need to put in to earning a large income online.
To start with how many of your 300 visitors came from Google? (300 visitors is not a big amount, and was probably mostly Hubpages community traffic, which will not convert well.
If you do want to make your Hubpages efforts pay off lookin in to SEO, Internet Marketing, and even some marketing techniques to help you drive traffic to your hubs, and make money off of them.
Simple as that make quality hubs after proper KW research and wait for 2 to 3 months.
As another new writer here at hubpages, just wanted to see that this forum was really helpful to me too! Everyone here is always so nice to jump in and answer questions
Keep trying y'all! I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere after a year of writing hubs and also reading hubs about how this thing works. It was really slow at first, but at the moment I am waiting for my second pay out from Google. It should be arriving in the mail box very soon! It took me about 9 months to get my first one and now things are getting fairly steady. Good luck everyone!
Be patient. I have 1 unpublished hub with 373 page views. In my 3rd month on September 11, 2010 I began to get page impressions almost everyday in that month. So far 0 estimated earnings but I am on my way to make some earnings. It just takes time and make sure that you write quality articles. That what I have done and was surprised that I got page impressions as early that I did. Just enjoy your stay here.
It's not easy to make money here is all I can say! After about two years and 36 hubs (most of which were written in the past few months), I still have not reached payout but I think it might finally happen this month. I would say to just keep on going and eventually you will start seeing benefits. Then once you start seeing benefits, it will motivate you to go further and it can snowball from there. Good luck!
