Catholic Church and Irish State continue to conceal Child Rape -

    8th October 2010 -

Those of us who thought that the Ryan, Murphy and Ferns Reports into the Rape and abuse of children at the hands of members of Catholic Religious Orders, and the collusion between the Church and State in the concealment of those heinous crimes against Humanity, would bring about a new era in Child Protection in the Irish Republic are to be sadly disappointed.

Members of An Garda Siochana have informed The Irish Observer that their investigations into the Rape and subsequent pregnancy of children as young as 11 years old are being hampered by the refusal of CURA to hand over files relating to the pregnancies of those children, such files would prove conclusively the Rape of those children and assist in the prosecution of many Child Rapists in the Irish Republic. CURA was established in 1977 and is an agency of the Irish Catholic Bishops Conference. CURA is funded by the HSE under its Crisis Pregnancy Programme.

CURA was established to combat the rising tide of demands from feminists for the universal availability of abortion in the Irish Republic. CURA was an attempt by the Catholic Church to take control of ‘crisis’ pregnancies in the Irish Republic and therefore subdue the demand for abortion to be legalised. While many may say that this was a positive move by the Catholic Church, the reality is somewhat different.

For example, CURA provided a means by which children who had been Raped within their family and became pregnant from that Rape, could be secretly taken to Dublin, give birth to their child, the guardian of the raped child and the child would sign a document relinquishing all rights to that new born baby, and CURA would then arrange for that child to be placed with another family. The Raped child would return to her family and be sworn to secrecy.

Gardai have informed The Irish Observer that CURA who are Government funded have refused to hand over files relating to the Rape and subsequent pregnancy of children, some as young as 11 years old. While Government Ministers are on record saying that any agency that is State funded and refusing to cooperate with the Gardai in their investigations into child rape would have their funded reduced, no such action has been taken against CURA as Church and State continue to conceal the Rape of Children.

The Irish Republic has no Mandatory Reporting of Child Rape on its Statute Books and therefore it is not a crime in the Irish Republic to conceal the Rape of a Child. While Fianna Fail promised in their 1997 Manifesto to introduce Mandatory Reporting of Child Rape they have failed to do so as the Catholic Church does not want such reporting introduced. Due to the continued influence of the Catholic Church in many spheres of Irish society including education, health and so forth, the Church has found many willing partners in its demands for the Irish Government to keep the Statutory Reporting of Child Rape off the statute books.

The Catholic Church and its partners in crime do not want Mandatory Reporting of Child Rape on the Statute books in the Irish Republic as they know that many within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church would face both the moral and criminal gallows.

I agree the Catholic Church should not have that much power in the legal system.

I say forget the papers, go to DNA evidence, and then persicute the Priests period, reguardless of what the Church objects to.  Law is Law

The Church is not above it. The church should be required to support the Child also.

This is disgusting! No group should have that much authority in the legal system! No child should have to deal with such pathetic injustice! The Parent's of these children should ban together and speak up! From what I've read I'm sure there are plenty of parents who could stand together and fight! And I'm sure there are people who would back these parents! The flip-side to this is the reality that many fear the church because of it's dominance! A double edged sword! Sad! Sad! Sad!

Thanks for your comments - it is incredible that in 2010 the Catholic Church continues to conceal the Rape of Children - anyone who wishes to copy my article and post it on other media you are welcome to do so - I really want this information out in the real world so that people can know what is going on behind the Spin and lies of Popes and Cardinals.
