You have to use the URL tracker that is listed when you look at your account.  There are directions on how to apply it as a link.  I hope that helps.

Why doesn't HubPages automatically generate an affiliate link with each hub? Everyone seems to struggle with making their own. I know lots of mine are wrong. Wikinut just provides you with a link.

When you click on "Share" near the bottom of the hub, you can pick "Link to this page" and there's a drop down box under "HubPages Referral Tracker" where you can choose which tracker you want to use.

To place a tracker in any hubpages address, simply add an underscore (_) then your tracker name. For this example we'll use _kmack

The best page to send them to is the sign up page:

    hubpages.com/user/new

    So we make it:

    hubpages.com/_kmack/user/new

FOR MORE INFO: Darkside's hub http://hubpages.com/hub/tracking

    To create a hyperlink:

Edit your profile, highlight the word you want to make a hyperlink, then click the chain icon. In the window that pops up, put the URL listed above, but with your own tracker. Then click ok.

I have had no one sign up under my URL trackers....but then again I don't have a link to sign up for hubpages on my profile...is that what you do WryLitt?

I'd recommend inserting your tracker ANYTIME you link to a hubpage.

When you link between hubs, when you link to a hub from another site, when you link from your profile... you name it.

Another way (if not already mentioned):

    1.    Go to the page you want to link to.
    2.    Click the “link to this page” at bottom of screen.
    3.    Select tracker.
    4.    Click the created link to highlight it.
    5.    Give it the ctrl-C to copy.
    6.    Proceed to edit profile.
    7.    Click where you want it to go.
    8.    Give it the ctrl-V to paste.
    9.    Fiddle around with it until you figure out how to edit it. smile

No not quite....go to your profile and right at the bottom of the page you see Link to this page and then choose your tracker. Use your tracker when highlighting a word or phrase in your profile editor!

Yep, that's right. That will work.

And as WryLilt has suggested, use it every time you link to one of your hubs.

You might also refer to the video tutorial here: http://learningcenter.hubpages.com/url- … e-program/

Once you're familiar with the URL tracker system, it's easy to put a link to that in your profile big_smile
