    Hi Guys ... and Ladies....
Obviously i'm new here. So i got my first bud kick straight away. Now since it seems to be impossible to determaine where the borders are, neither in the FAQ pages nor anywhere els i had to find out my self.

So when i first saw the message above i started to remove boxes, that resulted in degrading my page, ok no problem.

Next day, the same thing, still the message and i removed more and more. No my points are down by 39. I have removed anything possible so it would at least still look like something.

What's left is now A lot of text. Re written text, unique, nowhere published before. 1 single link and 5 pictures of my own product, not any affiliate crap. No MY OWN Product. Now i ask myself what are the hub pages good for if i can't even talk about my own software what i've been working on for the last three years and tell readers where to download it?

I mean all of it has been said before, sure, but what do you want to write about hotel software? Still people need hotel software, even though evrything has been said about that theme a thousands of times. It's not that advertising my product would have been all i contributed to this community, i added comments and i even took the time to write an article in the request section.

As i mentioned, text, 5 pictures, 1 link and still the message above. If i take anything more out i can as well delete the whole article. Unfortunately the article is not visible so i can't ask for any opinion to the page.

Maybe if you added another link.

Then the outgoing links to the same domain would have dropped from 100% to 50%.

After you make changes, you have to submit the hub for review in order for the "overly promotional" warning to go away.  It's not automated, and it can take a day or two for it to be reviewed.  The problem is most likely with links -- I would suggest just using 1 or 2 links to your product in the hub.  The rest of content that you removed can probably go back in.

Being "overly promotional" isn't about affiliate marketing crap, as you call it. It's basically writing a page solely to promote a product... whether it be your own or someone else's.

I would do as Darkside suggests, add another link.  Or add multiple links. Maybe instead of writing a hub solely about your product, write a hub about hotel software in general and include a link to your product as well as others. If the Hub is just to promote your product then that's pretty much a guaranteed ding on the promotional meter. And the merits of each hub appear to be considered on their own so other things you contribute have little to do with how one hub gets treated.

HotRez, what Embitca says is spot on when you take into account the following...

Source: The confirmation page after the hub is created.

I dont understand  DUH ?  I created a hub that solely talks about my Sailboat I am selling on Ebay.
Its hooked to my ebay auction.

Totally promotes my Sail Boat   Ralph visited and said what a great idea.

Hubpages is making this auction the best one I have done in several years.
Probably ever. In 24 hrs I have over 50 watchers and they already are biding on the boat.

    Thank you hub pages!!!!!
