Hi,
Hope this is not already answered somewhere, I did look around with no luck. If someone leaves a comment that is normal such as "interesting hub", why are they identified as a spammer over the approve/deny button?
Is it OK to approve their comment if it seems perfectly fine?
Thanks in advance.
mardi
Same thing happened to me today, when someone left a two-word comment on one of my hubs, and it was marked as spam. I approved the comment since, like you Mardi, I thought it looked perfectly fine. However, I did notice the same hubber leaving similar two-word comments on other new hubs I visited today, so now I'm wondering. . . .
Some people leave little throw away comments like that on every hub that gets published trying to drive traffic to their own hubs. They're basically the same people that become fans of everybody that joins HP. I don't think it will hurt you any to approve their comments, but I don't know that there is any particular benefit either.
People who join everyones fan club , get their hub scores lowered tremendously and always make posts in forum wondering why their own scores are at a low. This is because of good and bad neighbourhoods, if we join lot of very low scored or new hubbers continously who are not at all creating good hubs, it will lower our scores deeply.
Spam comments are made when some one posts a url or the same words repeatedly in lot of hubs. It is our decision to approve them or not.
If they leave a 2 word comment like:
Nice Hub
and then
http://www.visitmystupidurl.com
then that is spam

For the last ten days I do not seem to be able to reply to the 12 comments that I have received on various posts. After having read an article and having left a comment, that does not seem to work either. I have mentioned this glitch on the hubpage Facebook pages and now again here. Please...

What does it mean when your comment does not post immediately on a hub but you can see that others do? Is it related to the "accept or deny" buttons in the comment section on our page? Seems there's another level of regulation I'm missing because it doesn't happen every time. Some...

Do you accept or deny comments that leave a link to someone's website?I don't mind people leaving a link to one of their hubs but I don't know about people leaving a link to their own website.

Do you think if someone publishes a hub they should approve comments if they don't agree with answerAs long as they aren't swearing, combative or vulgar, or do you think people have the right to see both sides?

Some comments I make on hubs are immediately unapproved - why?In two instances, I made a comment on a hub that didn't appear; it just said it had to be approved by the author first, and it thanked me for participating in the HubPages community. When I looked at my activity on my profile page, it...
