Does this hub stink?

I spent a heck of a lot of time putting together this hub - it seems long and detailed enough and it includes a video and photos as well as links to other hubs and articles on the web. Yet it started at 46 - the lowest I've ever gotten to start a hub. What the heck did I do wrong? I put in lots of tags and it's a completely unique article - I wrote everything myself and built the product from scratch myself. I don't understand what I did wrong. Can anyone help me fix this?

    This is the hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/Pochade-Box

I guess you have got the answer already. I can see the score is 81. So now you know there wasn't anything really wrong, you just need to give it some time to grow. By the way I would suggest you not to give links to your hub in forum post or in hub comments. It is considered as the promotion to your Hub. It should not be done. I just thought to tell you this as you have given the link to the hub you are talking about. Better give the title of the Hub and let readers go to your profile page and search for the same.

Give it a couple of days.  I had a hub start out (and stay) at 48 for a few days last week, and now it's at 94, so don't worry.  Incidentally, it's a great hub!  I read it because the title caught my eye, and I wanted to know what a pochade was!  I thought your illustrations and explanations were great.

Looks great to me - detailed, original, and interesting.

Hubs always start with terrible ratings, wait a week or two before you panic (-:

now i feel even better. my friend who is an artist pointed out that its possible the low score was because it doesn't have a lot of popular keywords. sigh, and i know what they are too.

That is one very nice hub you have written there.

Did you know Knol is having a contest on How To at the moment?

Your hub would fit in quite nicely over there.

I'm sorry but I just have to ask, Shashigai - what is that in your avatar pic?

LOL, Shirley, I have to ask, what is that in your profile pic?  smile I'm not used to seeing you this way.

shashigai, your Hub is fine.  When I write a Hub, it often starts below 50.  Who knows why?  You write well, the information is original and interesting, so don't worry about it.

HubPages may be an instant gratification place in terms of comments on Hubs or comments to forum posts, but it is not that way when it comes to traffic and Hub scores.  Patience is the ticket.

      Keep up the good work!

that is a pic from an upcoming hub on cooking - i was trying to find the option where you can write 15 hubs about something because i have a lot of quirky cooking ideas, so i haven't published the hub.

those are barbecued ribs made without a grill AND not in the oven. tongue want to guess how i did it?

i am also planning recipes for things like chicken fried steak and some alternatives for baby back ribs. another one of the hubs is going to be "packet gourmet" - making sauces and other goodies from leftover packets of things like catsup and soy sauce.

      oops. talking too much again...

As I said in the other thread, this is the one forum where you can link to your hub.

thanks so much everyone for your encouragement! the hub soared to the heady height of 88 - the highest scoring hub i've ever had! AND - someone I know from another site said they had seen it! that was VERY exciting.

it gives me some sense of how i need to organize my writing in the future.
