I really like it when I hear it but don't know or have any titles. I like both Eastern and Western (Native American) Indian music. Looking forward to the responses so I can get some titles.
Almost everything, including classical (mostly Hindustani - need to learn more before getting to appreciate Carnatic!). And of course, "filmi" music too!
here is a site i think will be useful for you to understand carnatic classical.

I like indian classical music.. I especially love hearing a great tabla player
Hindi pop and film music on the other hand is some of the most infernal noise ever to be inflicted on the world
An apt description, for the most part. I don't know how much of "film" music you have heard - but if you dig deeper, you will get some true gems of vocal rendition - mostly on a classical base.
On the other hand - Indipop is utter cr*p - happens when you try to be something you are not.
I haven't heard a lot. Only the stuff I have come across in bollywood movies, which I don't watch very often. And the stuff I heard incidentally while travelling in northern India.
Another issue must be the language barrier - you wouldn't be able to appreciate the songs unless you understand the lyrics - at least in most cases.
Just as most Indians (except the young urbanites) find it quite difficult to understand and accept hard rock or heavy metal as music!
Indian music gives a very pleasure especially when you here melody and slow songs. I really love Indian Music. you can fine more bout in "DhoomFM"
I find some Indian music realy nice but the majority of it jangles a bit for me. I did start getting interested in Arabic music at one time - but an 8 hour taxi ride from Algiers to somewhere in the middle of nowhere up the coast, with what appeared to tbe the same tune blasting away the whole trip accompanied by the drivers not so good singing voice stopped that.

Around 50,000 years ago, early modern humans began to disperse from Africa, reaching all the habitable continents. Since all people of the world, including the most isolated tribal groups, have a form...

I manage my husband as a producer out here in the Caribbean and he makes a lot of melodious instrumentals... would you listen to instrumentals or do you need vocals on a song for you to enjoy it?
