      Doom:
      This is my biologically inspired defintion of "intelligence."
      
      Intelligence is the ability to use the wisdom gained in life to "LIVE" for as long as ones genetic programming will allow.
      
      What is the "goal" of all life? SURVIVAL of the species.
      "Intelligent" life, will, joined by  "instinct," try to attain this goal!

         Well, let's see. 
         
         When I entered the public school system, they did an intelligence assessment and decided I was slightly retarded.  A few years later they did another test and decided I was a genius.
         
         Most conservatives here think the initial assessment was correct.  Some liberals might side with the latter.
         
         I dropped out of school when I was sixteen.  Was that intelligent?
         
         I started several businesses  and have not worked very hard in years. Is that intelligence?
         
         I don't understand music at all.  I have extreme diificulty with those tests that ask you to figure out what something looks like folded or unfolded. Is that intelligence?
         
         You cannot define intelligence in the absence of a specific task.  Yes, some people are generally unintelligent and some are polymaths or close to it. But most of us have peaks and valleys, strengths and weaknesses.
         
         Intelligence is very overrated.  A little will serve you well. A lot is more likely to screw up your life and make you miserable if you let it.

They did the same here, but they made my dad sign this thing so i can "catch up" (?) and now am in high school (10th grade), trying to figure out how to get the hell out of this "program"  and i don't know what to do.
            
            when your introduced in to a new job aren't you technically unable to do it with out someone teaching or without some time to get a idea of how to perform the job? I don't want to go on rambling on how the school system has too many flaws.

      Do you think humanity can even be able to handle "raw information"? lets say i gave you a textbook full of facts but no instructions on how to use the facts, so intelligence is the ability to make sense out of nonsense? but first before i go on, what is raw information? numbers, facts on particular subject or maybe raw information means awareness?

   Personally I don't think intellect is measured by what you know. I think it should be measured by someones willingness to learn, and their ability to retain that knowledge. For example, If someone does not know more than me I do not consider them dumb or lacking. However if they are not aware of whats around them and they have no interest to learn. That to me is is Unintelligent.

   Intelligence is knowledge absorbed into a functioning brain which knows how to use it.
   
   
   No matter how much knowledge is given to a turtle, with a functioning brain, it doesn't know how to use it.  Therefore, a turtle is not intelligent.
   
   Small doses of knowledge given to children, with functioning brains, learn how to use it.  Therefore, children are intelligent.
