   Nope. I would sooner spend 12 months writing a book and having a chance of publication at the end!
   
   Otherwise, what a waste of a month! (assuming that NaNoWriMo is what I think it is?)

      It is. And lots of creative writers swear by it as a way to get their creative mojo going. I don't have a creative bone in my body, so I stay far away. But I'm really interested in finding out more about the process.

   My husband and I both want to do it. It just a question of freeing up the time. I know couples who have done it together said it was a great experience. Umm. they each wrote their own novel. Although alternating pages could be fun!

   I am considering doing it this year.  I first heard about it two years ago, and at the time thought there was no way, but I am not nearly so slow at writing as I use to be.  I am playing with some ideas right now, to see how much I can dream up in a short period of time, and how well I can know my characters before November gets here.

    I gave it a quick thought last year but dismissed the idea, however this year I am seriously considering it. It would really help me get used to writing to a deadline. Many authors have also gained publication through it, which is a good insentive. Anyone else?

    Oh yeah This year I'm ML for the new Lake County Region in Florida this will be my 5th year and I've won all 4 years previous. Published 3 of my novels. Yup, love NaNoWriMo

       Naw   Don't believe it for a second.  Just take an idea and write, write, write...even if it doesn't seem to make any sense in the beginning.

       You don't really need to be 'good enough' to do it. You just need to be willing to devote the time. Of course, if you're a slow typist it will take even more time... but I just mean, you could do it if you really wanted to!

       Nah... you're doing a fine job of it yourself!
       
       The only good thing I can see there is that you didn't include something like, "I have five kids under the age of ten." Then I'd be rolling my eyes and really feeling sorry for you.
       
       Now I wonder if you're going to write back and say you DO have five kids under age ten!

    My partner has been writing a book for the past few months. I think when writers want to write, they just go for it. It's hard to bottle all that inspiration up and release it just for a month of November. experienced writers will do their own thing. New writers will find it encouraging, and it's nice to feel part of a society of like-minded people. I think Hub Pages has everything a writer could ever want right here. We are a community. And Hubs have many some bonuses too.

    I joined up last night and started writing my novel for NanoWriMo. I know I'm a little late but I;m still going to give it a go. If anyone else is doing it you can add me as a buddy on the site if you like, I also wrote a hub about it.
