    ...referred sign ups.

Not much effort on my part. I just use the trackers when linking between my hubs and on the odd occasion when I link to someone else, I'll have a tracker in there too.

HubPages referral system is second to none. The only one that comes close is Squidoo, but that's a one off $5 bonus if your referral makes it to $15 in revenue.

WOW! Good job. How many hubs?

You're leaving me choking in your dust. tongue

About double that. On average one hubber publishes two hubs. In reality only 10% will publish a couple of hubs, and 10% of that 10% might turn into active hubbers. And 10% of that 10% are prolific. I think that's at about 0.01%?

I have a couple of hubs that explain the technical aspect of how it works and how to set up a tracker. But I think I will have to publish a more personal one that tries to explain this 'magic' you speak of.

I have learnt to set up trackers.. but the magic doesn't seem to work Darkside,  may be I should wait to read your new hub ...or may be there is something lacking... anyways let me checkout your older hubs right away

Like WryLilt I'm choking in Darkside's dust, but of the sign ups I have at least half have never published a hub, several more write 1 or 2 and then stop and only a couple have written around 10. I wonder what it is that leads someone into being a prolific and successful hubber? And when is one going to use my tracker to sign up! LOL smile

wow - I really need to get working on this.7

Darkside am I right in thinking that you don't get to see the income generated by these sign-ups - its just lumped into the Google and Amazon pots? So if I see a random product sold on Amazon that may have been sold by a referal's hub but I will never know?

7 months in - still so so much to learn.

      You're right, SG.

You don't see where it comes from - especially when lots of referrals are writing sales hubs!

I have two prolific hubbers signed up under me who have written about 50 sales hubs between them so I often wonder...

Well if it makes you feel any better, those prolific hubbers are two out of about 70 or more. tongue

Edit: I went back and looked at our emails and you mentioned you were going to get into referrals ages ago. You need to get your butt into action!

Writing hubpages = making money doing nothing after writing. Referrals = not even writing! tongue

Darkside has done time - he was one of the originals here at HubPages.  When I first started here, I looked back to the forum posts from the beginning and watched how the elders have progressed.  Darkside is not only a prolific hubber, he is an outstanding lecturer in the realms of all things webwise.  If there is anyone worth listening to, it is Glen.

p.s. Glen - why did you get rid of those lovely 'dark eyes' avatar?  Did your wife not like it? hehehe

What I really need is some mad Australian woman to keep nagging at me to get going with it ..... oh no there you are smile

It is still on my to do list - but I have been distracted by shiny new gadgets that are begging to be written about, and they are sooo pretty.

Wow.  That is amazing.  I have had over 2000 clicks on my tracker but only 2 signups.  Probably the worst CTR ever for the trackers.  Unless you count my Amazon (LOL).

Nope - you lose.  3500 clicks, 2 signups and 1 hub written with 36 views to it.

This is something I need to work on, but seldom write hubs that I think might encourage someone to sign up.

I have one referral, and it's already a writer who was here. She signed up under mine, for her second account. lol

Otherwise, I've done nothing for referral or to get them. tongue

    Congrats Darkside! Awesome job! smile

I obviously need to educate myself in this area. Time to do some more homework. Thanks for pointing it out, Darkside, and kudos to you!
