The Bible is the only proof the christian have that God is real, through faith in these words.

    Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak NOT ACCORDING TO this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

Wasn't the bible written from men who had experiences with this God that the Bible is written about?

Seems stupid for these people to write about someone/something that never happened when the whole bases of the character of that God is someone who send his only son to die on a cross for our sins, besides that, how many people have commited to death before renouncing their writings or beliefs? Seems stupid to me, if you know what you wrote was a big hoax why the crap would you die for it?

Many Christians (as well as followers of other faiths) interpret events as evidence of God in addition to the holy text of choice.  For many the experience of awe, the overwhelming sense of the sublime in nature for example, stands as clear evidence to them of God. Many will see the survival of themselves or a loved one from a near-death experience as evidence of God.  Frankly, any occurrence that defies statistical probability can count as proof of God.

Proof of God lies in the desire to find it.  I have heard many a Christian tell a non-believer that he or she is "blind" and can't see the evidence before his or her eyes.  God/s exists for a person if they want him/her/it/them to exist.  Everything stands as evidence for it, and things that seem to counter it are dismissed or explained away as part of the larger plan or unfathomable complexity of Him and that sort of thing.

It really just comes down to what a person needs in his/her life and what they want to see or not see.

Well, non-believers have no proof that God doesn't exist - outside of the thought in their minds.  hmm  lol

The Bible is the only proof that christians have that god is real.

Then, they are SH!T out of luck on that, because there is no proof in the Bible that a god exists. hmm

I don't think that the bible was ever suppost to prove his existince, I've always just thought of it more of a reference guide to the christian faith, where it  originate.

Wouldn't it be better if you knew "why" the christian religion was started in the first place, before you decide on anything else?

The only reason for the christian religion's existence, is because the religious establishment at the time found that Jesus had more followers than they realized and didn't want those followers going off and doing what was taught to them.

Therefore- Christianity was born, so as to keep the followers inside religion, while they were never to know the difference.

Guess what? It's worked for a great many centuries.

In the words that relate to Christianity, Muslim, Islam and all the others- It is a ritualistic faith in a higher power.

Religion- does have a use outside of ritualistic faith.

They Bible is all we need. It is God's word written by several different men. They were from a variety of backgrounds. Their writings were all inspired and guided by God. He only wanted the truth in the Bible because He knew it was the only way people would come to learn about Him after Jesus returned to heaven. He also knew the Bible would be disputed and people would try to make it something it was not. That is the reason He guided the writings of the people who wrote the Bible. Nothing in the Bible will be proven false.
