I am seeking suggestions on recent Horror novels geared town to Kids market. Anything within the last 5 years would do.
Just curious to know if this subgenre is still around or even popular.
I adored "The Children of Green Knowe" when I was a kid, and the rest of the series. These aren't new, but they have dated well. They are beautifully written and quite haunting. Lucy Boston write them.
More Fantasy than Horror, take a look at Helen Dunmore's Ingo series.
Depends on the ages of the children as to whether it is still around. The teenage market is very much alive and thriving.
Try Disco Evil: Dead Man's Stand by Rod Marsden...Amazon.com
Try the writings of Terry Pratchett.
My son really enjoyed "Goosebumbs". They are well written and they are PG.
"The Ghost Children" is a lovely series for children. Has the elements of horror, but also has a kind of silly, playful humor to it. Even adults enjoy it.
Yes, that was what I was going to say...Goosebumps! I will haft to think about this for a moment and get back to you for I know there are others.
Thanks for the replies so far.
I guess the age range I'm looking for is the 9-12 market.
Goosebumps. Are they still popular? are there newer installments?
Rod, Disco Evil: Dead Man's Stand sounds good, I'll definitely try to check it out!
Pani, the Ghost Children might be what I'm looking for,
Thanks for the suggestions thus far.
This obviously is not recent, but I am still in love with the original Grimm collection of stories. Terrible gruesome, but they are never without a moral.

in the late 80s when I was a young impressionable youth, I read a book that all I can remember of was a boy moving into an apartment building (I think it was set in New York, but could be wrong) and meets this guy on the elevator one day who he goes on to suspect is a vampire. Has anyone else read...
