Any fans of coast to coast AM here ?

   There is a radio program that comes on during the late evening called coast to coast AM. It deals alot with science and paranormal topics. It has replaced TV for me during the evening. Are there any other hubbers here who are fans of this radio program ?

      I listen to it once in awhile, only because I'm waiting for the morning talk program to come on.  It's on at - like - 4:00 a.m. here, I think.  The mix of things that are discussed is kind of odd, isn't it...  I wouldn't call myself a "fan".  It's something different to listen to, though (and then the business news hour comes on, which is kind of more "me"     ).

      I like Coast to Coast.  Art Bell was the original host, and he almost never hosts the program live anymore, except at Halloween and New Year's Eve.  It's inconceivable to me that Bell always handled the technical board and never screened his callers.  But he is a radio man, and a ham radio operator as well, so he's got it in his blood.
      
      And, yes, I have come to appreciate their most frequent host, George Noory.  I'm a big radio listener, of all kinds of programs.
      
      Not that I listen much.  Coast to Coast comes on at 12:00 midnight here on most nights.  Rather, I have my radio playing the program and set to "Sleep" so it shuts off eventually.
      
      Coast to Coast is a good program for sleepless nights, except occasionally the subject matter is just too creepy for me.

   Tony,  I used to listen to that show about 15 years ago.  They had a segway song sung by Crystal Gayle on that program, do they still run that song?
   
   Lots of wierd topics.  Still, it was entertaining.

      Actually Art Bell still plays that on the nights he broadcast on the show. I just love the topic matter they choose. I find it so intereting.

         Hmmmm...
         Tony,
         I always hear Art on the "Somewhere in Time" older shows that they repeat, but have I missed Art on any more current shows?
         I know he always does the "Predictions for the New Year" show.
         I didn't listen on Halloween to see if he was hosting.  Just wondered.
         
         As I said, midnight is too late for me to be a frequent listener of Coast to Coast.

            Hi Grace. I am kinda lucky because during the week they replay the previous nights broadcast at 8 PM. So on the few shows I can tolerate on television I just DVR those and listen to coast to coast. I agree they sometimes deal with some very scary subject matter. But I find that fascinating as well.

               Thank you, Tony.  A re-broadcast at 8 PM the following evening makes perfect sense to me.  There is little worthwhile on the boob tube.  My TV stays off during the evening.
               
               Yes, some of it is scary stuff, but occasionally you'll hear in a guest's presentation or in a caller's comments that they are just on the radio for attention.  Art Bell was always very good at showing such people for what they were.  He was brilliant, in fact.  Occasionally I laughed myself silly at some of the outrageous guests he had on.  I sort of snickered in the night, lying there under the bedspread. 
               
               I think George Noory is very smart, and seems to listen well.

                  No doubt Grace there are some real nutjobs that call in, but I think that is part of the fun is listening to them.
