I got the results from an MRI scan today and it showed white patches on my brain.
I think that means either I get migraine (which I do), or have some hideous degenerative brain disease.
I'm gonna ask Santa for migraine since I don't much fancy the sound of the other. A couple of years ago Mr Claus brought me pleurisy for Christmas and I was deeply unimpressed, so I don't think it would be fair for him to bring me neurological delay when I didn't even put it on my list.
Posting here as asking for prayers - can't let on to anyone outside this cyber-world that I am secretly bricking it.
I think that you need to try and relax until you get a diagnosis from your consultant. I know that it isn't easy, but worrrying is just going to make you ill.
Take some long deep breaths, have a long hot lavender bath to relax and try and get a good nights sleep.
Going to send lots of healing your way.
Hi,
I think this could be the best thing we can do now it pray and pray to our almighty God how are the most powerful of all.
He can do everything and nothing is impossible with Him.
I will really pray for you...God will answer you..
Oh dear....
Those spots could be anything....maybe it's the Hubpages logo forming on your brain.
By the way, anyone would be bricking it and it's understandable, just check it out and take it day by day....Don't worry about it and even let it stress you out.
I remember back when I was a kid there was this other kid who had something similar and it turned out he did have bad migrains too, but he did over stretch himself as he did look after his ill mum whilst holding down 3 different paper rounds whilst at school....and he's still around 20 years later!
Most times we worry too much about what it could be.....so just hang in there and I'll say a little prayer for you Gracey!
Thanks Hypno - I have discussed with hubby and we have decided that since my appointment was only todau I get the whole of this evening to wallow in self-pity, then I've got to pull my socks up and ignore it until I get my Neurology appointment through.
Wayne - that story just broke my heart. I do get migraine and they have been getting more regular. Had a very stressful couple of years in 2008 and 2009 as my son was ill, mum had cancer, nan died, husband lost his job, then I quit mine because I couldn't cope - then funnily enough that is when the migraine started so I am hoping they prescribe me a long weekend at Centre Parcs on the NHS for medicinal reasons
I'm got my fingers crossed for you that it's nothing more serious than migraines ~ not that migraines aren't serious but you know what I mean.
I think it's good to have a good wallow sometimes ~ though I definiately recommend a glass of something while you do.
Sending you a set of crayons to turn those white spots into beautiful colors!
Hang on in there and I hope you get some great news soon!
In the meantime, I love MM's idea! I know its MUCH easier said than done SG but try to take one day at time.
Mighty Mom - that is very impressive. Never thought of that - maybe the white spots are just the bits God forgot to colour in when he was making me
spacey gracey- praying for you -
I think your hubbie is right- feel sorry for yourself tonight and dust yourself off and carry on!
see what the brain doctors think but in the meantime keep writing and keep on lookin after the kids, with your head so full it wont matter what those little white dots are doing and take mighty moms advice and start colouring them in!
Don't worry too much and wishing you more success to while away your time and for those white spots to turn into more colorful scenes and thoughts. Prayers for you..
I'll maintain the most positive thoughts that it's an error and all is WELL! Thoughts and prayers for complete healing are with you. Peace be with you too!
Spacey I hope you don't have to wait too long for those results. Waiting sucks. I spent most of August and September waiting for tests and test results and it was so stressful that I had to resort to self hypnosis to keep a lid on it. While everything ultimately was fine, I learned it's easier said than done to keep a positive attitude, so don't get on yourself if you worry.
Try not to worry. I have a strong feeling it will be good news. I'm praying....
Several years ago I got hit in the head with a pipe and knocked unconscious.
(I know, explains a lot...LOL)
Anyway, they did a head x-ray and found "dark places" on the x-ray.
I freaked out until the neurologist looked at it the next day and said it was normal places on the film, not my head.
So don't worry!
Coming from a different perspective I guess I would be one of your worst nightmares!
I hope you get the news you want.

A lot of you are newbies and don't remember me from when I was more active on Hubpages, but I wanted to share that my husband of 34 yrs. passed on last Thursday evening. It was totally unexpected, and he and I were/are the same age, 58. So far I have so much to do, I have no family but our adult...

What is the best way to "live in the now"?I often hear about this as a means of de-stressing and improving the quality of one's life, but I often find it hard to do. My OCD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder don't help either. If you are able to, what's your secret?

Just a update on my husband’s lung cancer. They say the mass is getting smaller. We go every day for radiation treatment. It’s an hour and half drive by the time we get home and I pick up more prescriptions, make dinner, take care of the pets, throw in loads of wash I’m exhausted....

In what is absolutely the LAST thing I and what family I have left need to hear at this point in time - my father is back in the hospital with sepsis. He's been fighting an infection in the bones of his foot for ten years now, he is severely diabetic...and they're finally going to amputate his...
