A good leader is not measured by how good a talker one is but his true legacy is better judged by his performance. Do you think President Obama know how to solve domestic and international problems? If you were him, will you concentrate first on America's financial and employment problems or the threats of terrorism and war must be given more priority? I believe both are important. It's just a matter of how good his judgement, critical thinking and prioritization is.

In theory, I think he's smart enough to do it. There are two things working against him. First, he worries too much about what people think of him. The financial situation is far worse than he's letting on. Rather than treat the American people like adults and candidly explain that we will slip into the worst recession in history within 3 to 10 years, he prefers to cover it up. I think the American people would have forgiven him back in 2009 if he explained in detail just what was happening to our economy. Now he's on borrowed time and he'll be ruined if his spending bubble bursts early. Second, he has proven to be too inexperienced to deal with the lies and corruption in Washington. He thought that if he extended the Afghanistan War, the GOP would give him the healthcare bill he wanted--wrong. He lets himself get bulled by the military. Security seems to be tightening, not loosening, under his administration (possibly in anticipation of civil unrest due to the next recession). Whether he makes it through his term unscathed or not, it apparently won't matter who the next president will be.

Little late for this question. Question is, is he worth re-electing?

His political ideology aside, Obama doesn't have the breadth of experience needed to handle these complex problems. His short stint as a junior senator is woefully inadequate against  seasoned heads of state in the real world like Putin. In Congress, Obama is like a puppy consorting with vicious wolves like Pelosi, Reid and others. It isn't about intelligence (or lack thereof), but knowing and understanding the rules of international gamesmanship and how to manipulate these rules to achieve a desired end. Unfortunately the voters at large don't understand this.

BTW, Sarah Palin doesn't have these qualities either. Please, let's not go there.

In a word, no.  The is where a campaign of feel good mantras got us, an inexperienced, clueless President who sees himself as a "ruler" (remember the whole "He will be ready to rule on day one" bit?) but is laughed at by the rest of the world.

His appeasement attitude in the face of global terrorism is like waving a red flag before a bull.....

The question is are we up to the challenge of handling the many crisis before us - we are all responsible.  The idea of giving our power away to a few is getting tired.
