Ok I just need one thing cleared up if everyone doesn't mind.  For a Blog when I do a new blog post does each new blog post rank for different keywords.  Or should I focus on the same 5 keywords for each blog post.

      That depends on many factors.

If people are going to search for you by your name, then your name is the best keyword.

If you aren't known, then the best words are the words for each particular blog that will get your blog onto the top of the search engines.

Ummm, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "same 5 keywords". Are you saying your whole blog is centered around 5 main keywords?

I have many blogs and use thousands of keywords. I can't think of any niche, no matter how narrow that could not use hundreds of keywords.

Each blog post is a single page. So it will rank for whatever keywords you use in that post. Let's say you have a blog about Harry Potter.

Your main keywords would be Harry Potter, plus the hundreds of variations of it. You could make a single blog post about "Harry Potter candy".

    Harry Potter magic wands,,,,

    Harry Potter movies,,,

    Harry Potter books,,,,

    Harry Potter dvd,,,,

    Harry Potter games,,,

    Harry Potter watches,,,,

The list goes on. Then you could make blog post about the different Harry Potter characters, villains, creatures, bla bla bla,,,

So a blog should have a few main keywords it goes after, as well as hundreds of other related keywords. Hope that helps. smile

Yes thank you bill that does make since so each blog post is a different page on a blog.  So each page can rank for different keywords.  Thanks again bill.

No problem. Yes each blog post is it's own single page that will rank for whatever you put in it. Having your keywords in the title, which is the permalink, is very important.

So put what keywords your going for in the title, then sprinkle them in the content. Another good trick is to have links from one post going to others in your site. smile
