   So Anthony doesn't want to be with Denver, a perennial playoff team even though they're offering $65 million over 3 years? That's $21 million/a year...on a playoff team. Instead he wants to go to the NEW JERSEY NETS? Talk about EGOS & ARROGANCE

   He doesn't "want" to go to the Nets per say. He would prefer the Knicks or maybe even the Bulls, but he does want out of Denver. He knows the money will be there, regardless of a new collective bargaining agreement next season. He also knows the Nuggets have peaked now that Billups is showing signs that he is past his prime and Denver is not a a hot spot in attracting free-agents, nor are they a team that is going to spend the big bucks either. He sees LeBron teaming up with Bosh and Wade, then there's Kobe and Gasol on L.A., Boston has the Big 4, and he knows that his window in Denver is shut. He wants to go somewhere that will throw money at big-named players so that they can build their own super-team. I think he wants to join Amare with the Knicks, so that they can recruit Chris Paul on to the team in a few years to create their own super team. The Knicks, however, do not have the assets to trade the Nuggets at the current time, so Melo may have to settle for the Nets, where he'd team up with young and budding potential star in Brook Lopez and a Billionaire owner who is willing to spend anything necessary to build a Championship team. I wish he would stay in Denver. It would be better for the league and he would make more money there by signing right now, but as a competitor his best option really is to go to a team like New York, New Jersey, or Chicago in hopes of building a super team/perennial title contender and make good money while he is at it.

         You missed the point entirely. Of course teams like the Nets or Knicks are not title contenders as they are currently constituted. However, if Carmelo goes to one of those teams, that would then have a domino effect which would attract someone like Chris Paul to go and team up with whatever team Melo joins when he becomes a free agent after next season. You can't tell me that a team  would not be a title contender year in and year out with Melo, CP3, and Brook Lopez in the case of the Nets OR Melo, Amare, and CP3 in the case of the Knicks. Those teams have the ability to attract big named free agents to pair up with Melo, whereas the Nuggets would not.

            OK, 'Melo and CP3 are now ESTABLISHED superstars, but Brook Lopez is not. He has only been in the league for 2 seasons. We don't know whether he'll be another T-Mac or Andrew Bynum (guys with chronic injury problems)

      THE Nets, Knicks & Bulls are YEARS away from winning a championship. I thought that was what it was all about. I thought RON ARTEST had personality issues. Turns out 'Melo is EVEN MORE of a circus
