Just wanted to drop in and say hi to everyone, Ive been working hard over at Swom since yesterday so..
Anyway, since it is my first real Christmas here, I just wanted to talk about earnings over the important Christmas days, I imagine they will drop quite badly because hardly anybody is going to be shopping on Xmas day are they? I remember my stats showed traffic dropped quite badly last year..anyone experiencing drops at the moment?
My traffic totals/averages have held steady. Subtract out the traffic from my dozen or so Christmas-related hubs (as will happen in a couple days), and I can say my traffic will definitely be down.
It remains to be seen if my AdSense for Dec will match Nov. With my increase in Amazon, my totals should match Nov. I was just starting to earn last year this time, but Jan was definitely down, which I recall others saying was typical.
I have not paid attention, just keep writing but I do know it happens every year. Nothing to worry about and Merry Christmas!
Yes, I understand it's quite typical for a slowdown after Christmas for all types of merchandising, online or off. Unless you're selling weight loss solutions
I've had way more Amazon clicks in December. A 33% conversion rate too. Funny thing is..no one buys any of the promoted products, they're all strangely unrelated. Still, I'll take the payout.
I managed to keep it about the same in Jan last year as Dec by doing the 30 hub in thirty day challenge, once I stopped and took a break it fell off sharply and started rising again when I started writing again.
Last year, my traffic dropped around the middle of Dec. and din't really pick back up until Feb.
Hi Guys, thats interesting Habee, I would think there could be a boom because of January sales?
I was hoping for a small increase in profits on Adsense this month because I have broken a couple of daily records but I have also had a few low days..so fingers crossed I will tie even for Novembers earnings in the very least.
Yes, sometimes it's good after Xmas, but not always. Some history from my Adsense earnings over many years:

I can only imagine that type of earnings Pcunix- nice job!
Well, the point is not to brag about earnings - plenty of people make much, much more - but to show that expectations based on one or two years experience won't necessarily hold true. This stuff varies all over the map because so many factors play into it, many of which you have no control of at all.
I don't know.
As I said in my other post, this stuff can vary for reasons you cannot control.
Overall, 2007 wasn't a bad year
2003: 5,976.35 (began 6/19/03)
2004: 8,181.29
2005: 11,363.65
2006: 10,002.48
2007: 9,616.36
2008: 8,053.05
2009: 8,483.83
2010: 9,438.65 (through this morning)
Traffic to the site that generates most of this has increased, but earnings have fallen steadily, then picked up again this year.
Too many factors at play: economy, popularity of on-line advertising, interest by folks in what I babble about.. you can't really compare X to Y ever.
With all those new iPads as Christmas presents, there might even be a rise in traffic.
Although, most business see a dip in early January after all the sales etc...
Nice work Pcunix - that's an impressive set of stats you have there...
By seeing this report of earnings. I feel disturbed, as I have to go a long way..
Don't.
First, that money cones from more than a quarter million unique visitors per month and it is NOT from HubPages.
Second, it's actually not very much. Adsense has been a sideline for me - the purpose of the site that is responsible for that is to bring me much more than that in consulting fees.
So, we have this interesting dichotomy here. One the one hand, it's a lot of money compared to the vast majority of Adsense earners. On the other hand, it is a pittance to those who pursue on-line earnings as their main focus.
Funny how it can be both, isn't it?
Even activity over at Swom is slow today lol
I would imagine there could still be some clicks over the next few days as husbands and men in general probably escape to the computer as a refuge for avoiding mother in laws or the kids playing!

I'm seeing the worst earnings in my entire time on this platform. I hope it's simply me, but my Amazon and Google earnings are almost nothing these days. Is it time to sell my account, make like a cow turd, and hit the trail? It's been a long and lucrative run for me, but it looks like it's over if...

Anyone else noticing the trend? Traffic for the last few days has been dismal.

I have noticed that upon removing Kontera from my hubs that my AdSense earnings went up. Kontera seemed pretty useless even when I was earning with it because the click were not really all that profitable. One AdSense click seems to be worth more than a Kontera click even when it's like one of the...

All of my earnings across all platforms are up 8.92% from October 2010. Just considering HP, I'm up 5.1%. This is my second January on HP and my earnings have increased from January to January by 411%. This is how I judge whether or not my business is growing. On new platforms I expect to see...

Hi,I have noticed that my analytics if showing good traffic to my hubs, but my adsense is not showing any clicks to my hubs ever since I started. I do not understand how I can have a decent amount of traffic and yet no clicks. Could I have adsense set up wrong with hubpages? ...
