Hey guys! My name is Erick and I'm relatively new here, I just posted my first hub and really want feedback or a critique..or advice for better success with future hubs. I don't understand the scoring at all but I assume 44 is bad but it only has 12 looks. I have ads and amazon links on there which will hopefully help..

Thank you in advance (link is below) (no, I'm not doing this for a promotional purpose, simply a newbie asking for advice)

I find it best to leave that top right hand corner for Adsense ads instead of photos.

You could also use more text capsules; again, you have limited the space that adsense uses to place ads by using long capsules.

I know nothing of the subject, but content looks good to me.

Competition for "band auditions" is high by my estimation; you will have a hard time ranking for that phrase.

I wouldn't worry about the score.  Give it a few weeks and see what it is then.

Hey erik! welcome to HP smile
Your hub seems to be ok but as wilderness said that you should add more text capsules to it. You should wait a few days in order to identify the true potential of your hub.
The hubscore will increase as your hub gets old and people have a visit to it. All the best buddy smile

Hey Erick, welcome to HubPages. Given that hubs that with a score of 50, your hub has dropped a few points in its HubScore. Nothing to worry about just yet, the hub may need a little more time.

I recommend using more headers and using multiple text capsules. You are making good use of paragraphs but people like headers because they want to find quickly what they are looking for. That's just how people look at content on the internet.

Other things are RSS capsules and news capsules to keep your content fresh but you'll learn those techniques as you read more on how to improve hubs. There are many hubs on how to improve your hubs, read them all smile Also read the help section ( http://hubpages.com/faq/ ) and the Learning Center ( http://learningcenter.hubpages.com/ ). You will find a lot of helpful information in there!

Awesome, thank you guys! Thanks for the warm welcome! & I'll definitely check out everything I can.

I was wondering why anyone would want to put a bunch of text capsules when they can use just one. I thought there may have been a character capacity...that is until I kept typing! So it's my understanding now that ads are placed between the content as you so place the capsule, right?

One more thing, would you suggest that my article is too long? Or is the capsule spacing more important than length? Also, would you suggest that I go back and split it up, or should I just work on that with my next article, since band auditions is pretty competitive as it is?

Hi, I'm new here too.  I thought your hub was pretty good.  The suggestion about headers is a good one.

I'm wondering about the suggestions for moving the photo to allow for adsense block at the top, or splitting up content into different capsules for more ads... is this advice for earning money or for raising your hubscore?

Just curious.  If I turn off ads on a hub, will it score badly?

Earning money, you want the ads to be in the best positions to earn money.

I don't think that matters for the HubScore but I may very well be wrong. HubPages prefers hubs that have ads of course so they could have included that when computing the HubScore.
