Hi folks;
I've always had the bug to buy real estate, but doing it with next to no money was going to be a challenge. I wasn't able to work for a couple of years so putting money out for one of those crumby infomercial products was out of the question anyway. What I did do was spend my downtime perfecting a real estate purchasing strategy, which I have since put to work several times to buy at least 5 pieces of land. I decided recently that I was going to publish a series of hubs about how I do it, but someone suggested that I write a book instead because it would likely be more profitable.
Problem; I am not a marketer's bootlace, as my dear old Dad used to say, so marketing an ebook that I know zero about creating, seems a little intimidating. Can anyone make a suggestion or point me to their "how to make an ebook - and sell it" hub please?
Please don't be a lala and get on my case for this post. I am deadly serious about this project and I have nothing to sell you right now anyway. So there lol.
Actually, maybe I can provide the info if someone wants to write and promote. What do you think is the best way to attack this?
Thank you so much in advance,
Kerry
Do you have experience enough with your own sites to set up a 'squeeze page'? Or do you just need help with the book?
My only recommendation is to try and find some free ebooks or ones that give like a ten page sample, and use them for ideas.
Most ebooks I've seen are full of 'padding' and spend a lot of time spelling out the basics to raise the word/page count.
Thank you for responding, I am being serious when I tell you I don't know what a squeeze page is. I will never be a good geek LOL.
I do agree with the padding though, I have spent /wasted a good 20 minutes reading some first pages and not even gotten to the guts of what the offer is. I think my book will be short, direct and down to business, if that's the route I take. I suppose that matters little though, if I deliver the goods.
I will seek out some freebies and look them over. I really hadn't given this too much thought until I noticed another year was disappearing and I had only managed to ponder some more and write nothing.

Here is an example of a squeeze page:

The basic goal is to get the person to subscribe or buy.
Some squeeze pages offer a 'free first five pages' then when you read them, they have links back to a second page to let you buy the rest.
I've thought about exploring the same question. I did some searches and did not yet find my "eureka" hub, but just like when I first joined HubPages, I think you have to read a lot, it all sounds Greek, you re-read, and a few concepts start to sink in, and you wash, rinse and repeat.
I've bookmarked a few hubs on ebooks by earnestshub, waynet, and GustheRedneck.

Hey guys, are all of the hubs on hubpages capped at PR 3? I'm curious because I don't think I've ever seen a hub with a PR above 3. Are there any hubs that have a PR > 3? If so, could you provide some examples?

There are quite a few published authors on this site, all trying to find ways to market their work. Would it be possible for Hubpages to set up a page on this site where authors can advertise their books or ebooks, and if anybody is interested in buying one, they click on the book cover and...

So other than the fact that Google has apparently decided I am a crappy writer and my traffic is down from 17k a day to maybe 1600... with a similar decline in income... Do we yet know why this happened? Feeling a little bitter. Have had to take on enough clients that I rarely have time to...

Can I sell hand made soap that I've made as a hobbyist without insurance? If I sell hand made soap that I've made as a hobbyist, do I need some kind of insurance or business license? I just want to sell some of my soap because I have so much of it. I give a lot of it away, but there's so much soap...

I'd like to see the "Start a new Hub" button displayed on the "My Account" page. We've all noticed new Hubbers who can't work out how to start a new Hub. Thing is, I've noticed I have the same problem - and I've been here for ages! So I think it would be a good idea to have...
