some said that many are copying (keywords etc.) the works of others who are successful. Maybe others don't like this idea.

We need to choose the top 10 listings carefully.

If you have a top 10 of people with the highest average HubScore, that can be a good incentive to continuously improve your hubs.

If you have a top of most forum posts then you will get forum spam. That is human nature. If it is done well, I think both HubPages and the community can benefit from it.

HP can spew all of those stats and they can email the data to us per week, is that what you mean?
top hubbers with number of views - others will not agree to this particular item,

I mean one page on HubPages that gives us more statistics about Hubbers and hubs on HubPages. So I mean a page with, for example:

            - Top 10 of most prolific Hubbers
            - Top 10 of Hubbers with highest average HubScore
            - Top 10 of Hubbers that have written the most HubMob hubs
            - (and more, as long as it stimulates beneficial activity on HubPages)

It's just an overview of active and productive Hubbers and their hubs. At the moment we have http://hubpages.com/stats but that doesn't tell us very much.

But will the individual hubbers benefit from it? I doubt it. In fact, what PDH is saying to you is absolutely correct. It puts them in the position to have their keywords and hubs stolen, plagiarized and mimicked, and it can seriously hurt their revenue in the end. You don't know most of the top hubbers here because they go out of their way to keep a low profile. Why would you violate their privacy?

I'm aware of that, that's why I'm not suggesting things like a top 10 of most viewed hubs. The question of who has published the most hubs actually comes up often in the Answers section; people are just curious as well.

Many people are stimulated by being rewarded, that's why we have accolades and why video games have online international ranking systems. Some people are very competitive, others are not - that is fine.

If the rankings are well designed, they can stimulate people to be productive and active on HubPages. That is the benefit for individual hubbers (if they are susceptible to those type of things).

I see this all the time. Let me tell you what happened at Wikipedia:

    - People wanted to know their number of edits at Wikipedia but the software did not provide this number.
    - People wrote bots that computed the number of edits and they created pages at Wikipedia that were updated daily with editing rankings
    - People wrote separate websites that did that - analyzing your edits and providing overviews of them. There are countless edit counters for Wikipedia.
    - And now, your edit count has been built into the Wikipedia software. People care about their stats.

That seems like it would be cool. I mean, for example if I look in a category and see that my hub is featured... it feels REALLY good.. but I have to look into the category to see that. I wish HubPages would say, "Hey Melanie, four of your hubs are currently featured, two of them are the hottest in their category, six are the 4th hottest in their category, your hubs have been featured content 26 times, your hubs have been hopped 142 times and 13% of the time they were rated up, eight of your hubs really suck -- you should be spayed"

The last bit was a joke, but it would be really nice to see some stats of some of the metrics that are already being used here at HubPages.

Also, for those who have won contests here at HubPages, it would be cool for there to be something in their profile showing that they've won, how many times they've won, and what they won.
