Hey all,
I just came across this video. It shows what happened when the government decided to treat humans like civilized people. A traffic light signal that was, apparently, a horrific waste of time (we've all been there) was taken down. People were allowed to approach the intersection *with no prompts whatsoever*. There was no increase in accidents.
It turns out, as opposed to every Statist's claims(statist = someone who claims we need government), humans aren't dumb, we DO respect each other, and that we don't need an overlord.
Whereas I'm sure this video will change no one's mind towards the depths of anarchy, perhaps it will at least convince people to see that people aren't all evil.

You got all that from the experiment in the video where people are always on their best behavior in front of a camera?
How are traffic laws enforced when there is no camera or no cop? Ever hear the phrase "no cop, no stop?"
Without laws and without Govt there may be areas of decent society especially in rural areas but in heavier populations there would be total chaos. Do you remember what happened in New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina because I do, I was there and it was like the Old West, and as it turns out the police were the worst culprits.
I totally agree. Let's get rid of all traffic lights. God-damned government trying to tell us what to do. Forget that! An infringement on our rights as free people!
It's good to see you open up, Pandoras Box.
Your vaunted Wal-Mart police force wouldn't install traffic lights?
Well, I feel that a perfect state of total anarchy exists at all times. Everybody always does whatever they think they need to do, that laws and rules and their enforcement are just another form of force used by the strong over the weak, strong and weak re-defined within social context, as the tools used are no longer sticks and stones but laws and rules... blah blah blah...etc, so on and so forth.
We are way more locked in than people realize. The world that George Orwell wrote about ("1984") is here, in spades, with technology Orwell never dreamed of. Cameras everywhere, censorship, the proganda machine, even the walls have ears. Government of this stature is that which we were told would be. You are imprisoned in fear, hate, greed, and inhumanity to man. We are lied to, brainwashed, and bottle fed BS everyday, not just here, Everywhere. You are convinced to do what you know is wrong, all in the name of "The People", when the people haven't ruled here since the corporate beast reared it's ugly head and bought the people and sold them like chattel. The only thing that keeps us in chains is our disbelief that anything is wrong.
People inherently look out for their best interest. Yeah, your logic is totally sound; if there were no cops, people would just go crazy and start ramming each other off of the road... No, people would actually be safer imo, because they wouldn't be looking behind their backs all the time to see if a cop is tailing them. On a sidenote, it would also promote more personal responsibility, probably creating a more ethical society. This is in opposition to our current authoritarian tattle-tale police state.
Without traffic lights, you could be waiting a long, long time to be able to make a left turn onto many busy roads.
They are not just for safety. They also facilitate traffic flow.
Exactly what I was thinking. At a big intersection - and I am talking about 4-lanes meets 6-lanes - what's the flow with and without.
Also, poll drivers which they prefer - an impartial system with lights and the timer, designed to get the most people through, or polite anarchy?
Absolutely wrong!
The "invisible hand" of the free market would gently nudge the cars into the right lanes at the proper time, much more efficiently than the tyranny of traffic signals.
Oh ye of little faith.
Gotta go, someone's knocking on my shack flap.

Anarchy vs. Dictatorship? Which would you prefer?

I listened to various commentators on various TV stations after The Vote. One of them (on MSNBC) explained that Democrats DO NOT like rules. Republicans DO like rules and love setting them. Dems not so much. Yes?

I live in Leicester, a multi cultural city in the centre of Leicester. It's a nice city, safe and secure.Last night 300 kids went on the rampage and smashed shop windows and looted shops. The police sealed the centre of the town to try and confine the damage. Our mayor as well as other community...

Is anyone else tired of the police doing whatever they want while they are operating a vehicle, while they pull people over for the most tiny break of a law?I was once pulled over by a cop, and I could not figure out what I did wrong. Well, it turns out that the tiny light over my license plate was...
