I've been hubbing for almost two weeks and am looking for help with increasing traffic to my site and how to increase my ability to make a little money. Have adwords and amazon. What else is there and are there better ways to raise earning potential? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
It takes an average of six months to start earning on hubpages.
You've got 11 hubs - you need to write more, read about things like keyword research and SEO, and be patient.
There are literally billions of pages on the internet - and although hubpages does give your articles more of a boost than your own site would, you're still competing with many huge sites, so don't expect to magically get traffic and earnings overnight.
The average hub takes 6 to 9 months to reach full potential earnings and traffic.
Don't hold me to this as I am not a backlinking ace but what I think happens is that as your page has been on longer and longer of the internet it keeps on slowly building age, comments, links and all that...
My first hub was once on page 10 for the longest time, but without doing anything it has been creeping up and now currently rests on the #9 spot
The reason for this is that after a while you end up collecting related hubs, all of which start pointing at you
Keep writing, keep trying and dont wallow as when you least expect it you will start getting results...one time a hub wasn't getting anything at all and it ended up with over 100 views in a day as google put it to #1 and now it gets about 10-15 views a week.
Patience is the key for at least 2 to 3 months thereafter you will come to know what will work and what will not.
Hi there,
I see your concern, and your concern is the biggest problem for almost every content publisher and blogger out there. Why? because so many people love to write, but then sometimes after they get their content written and published, they notice "Where and how do I get viewers?" Because we don't go after them, they will not come easily.
I have had lots of experiences with building popularity to websites, blogs, and articles. Just know you can do that for free, without having to pay people to do it for you. Will it consume your time and patience? Yes it will.
I recently wrote a Hub about Blogging For Money located right here http://hubpages.com/hub/BlogginForMoney where I share some good tips on getting Traffic TO Blogs, where the same can be applied to Websites and Hubs. It all just takes time, but in the end It really pays it off!
Check it out and tell me what you think, If you still need more help let me know, It would be a pleasure to help you out on knowing how to start getting some traffic to your Hubs and Websites.
I hope I was a bit of help,
Take care.

An editor reviewed this particular hub and decided that due to the fact that it has been extensively covered they could not get it on Toughnickel. To my surprise I found it doing well on the main site - HubPages.

I used to be totally addicted to HP, couldn't wait to log on everyday to see what was happening, who and what was popping in the forums, what interesting hub made HOTD, and of course, how my stats and earnings were progressing. I looked forward to the rush I got from clicking "publish"...

I am having a bad day - I've been ill for a week, son #2 has now been ill for a month, husband came home yesterday full of despair at not getting promotion and much needed pay rise. So this morning I gave myself my usual half-baked pep talk about my new 'career' online. Then came on HP for a...
