I have been having problems trying to add pictures! and edit pictures in hub. I have been trying to make the pictures i already have in hub larger, only for them to change back to small once saved!
I have tried getting round this by using another PC to no avail and  I have tried using every browser I have available.

This is the message I keep getting..

    Oops!
There was an error saving this capsule. Please click EDIT and then SAVE to try again! This error will be reported to the Hubpages engineering team.

Please can someone let me know ASAP when this problem is going to be fixed..!!

    Thanks!

Yes, we had a database server problem early this morning.  Everything should be back to normal now!

I know this thread is months old, but I didn't want to post a new one if one all ready existed.

Now I've been getting this problem lately. I get the same message:

"Oops! There was an error saving this capsule. Please click EDIT and then SAVE to try again! This error will be reported to the Hubpages engineering team."

I tried using Firefox 3, and I didn't get the message, but there were definitely problems with the capsules when trying to edit and save and so on.

Then I tried IE 7 (I've got 8 somewhere but haven't installed it yet), and I got the message. I tried clicking edit and save again; same problem. I tried clicking done editing, then edit, saving after putting my text in the capsule; same problem.

I can't publish the hub I'm working on, because the text isn't saved, and all I have in the hub so far are some Amazon capsules, and there's a message telling me that there's too little content.

The hub has been sitting there for days unpublished, and I thought the problem might "go away", but it hasn't. I haven't ever had this problem before.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Are you pasting text into the text capsule or just typing in it?  I was able to add text to the text capsule in your hub using both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

If you haven't already, the first thing I'd try is to close down your browser completely and then open it again, navigate to the edit page for the hub, and then hold down shift and click refresh, and then try editing again.  This will ensure that you have all the latest and a complete set of the HubPages javascript and CSS files.

One other common cause of those types of errors is a flaky internet connection.  The edit page is constantly communicating updates back to our server, and if one of the requests fails that message may pop up.  To test this, if you can you might try editing with the same browser from another location.

I'll give some of the things here a go, thanks Paul.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks now, and I tried all of the things above, only to find that....it works!

The flaky internet connection was likely the cause. I used one different to my usual, and I was able to edit my hub and publish it. And I used IE 8 instead of Firefox 3.5- my usual browser.

    Thanks for the suggestions Paul.

This happened to me too.  My internet connection is so slow.
