Imagine that your wife arrives home with a new car. You, in your innocense, ask her: "who is the owner?" and she answers: "oh, it´s mine. It was a gift from my boss! Do you like it?"
Tell me what would you feel...

oh, I will ask my wife, Can I also work for your boss?

Ask her why did the boss gave her one? Trust your wife, if you have issues with her, ask her in a nice way.

I would just ask her to ask her boss where mines is because my wife wouldnt cheat on me and therefore i'd have no reason to be suspicious, after all if she tells the truth that her boss gave it then theres already honesty there.

....guess it depends on what the boss sells and what position the 'boss' is in....controls the assets?....and what your friend does for a living....is she the clerk?....if so then, the car is over the top and it looks like 'Houston, we have a problem'.....is she the VP....then maybe not and it's a way to give a bonus somehow rather than cash......

But...if it was a well-deserved perk...that everyone gets with the job...well then...guess which car we are going to be driving on weekends...!

If ther boss is very welathy and gives such gifts to various different people, then it wouldn't bother me.  Or, if it was a company leasehold not an outright gift.  No way to say without knowing more about the situation.

Is her boss a man or a woman?

    Is it her annual bonus?

Did he/she give out more than one?

    Too many variables. Please elaborate.

Her boss is a man. I don´t think it´s a bonus because the company, for what I know, financially has problems and yes she was the only one.

I don't know if I'd go to manlypoetryman's extreme but I'd go real close.

Seriously, the fact remains that if something other than a gift is going on, there's a much bigger problem here. I'd be asking a lot of questions of both my wife and her boss then go from there.

Simply put, where there's smoke, there's fire.

She knows something that the boss would prefer kept quiet. The car is silence money! yeah, would work for me too smile

Not an affair. Couples having affairs don't make things so obvious.

    Nobody's asked the obvious question.
WHAT KIND OF CAR IS IT?
Is it a Kia or a Prius?
or is it Lexus or a Mercedes or a Land Rover?
    Is it red?
    Is it a convertible?

A forensic investigation of the back seat will answer all his questions.  Then he will know what to do and how to feel from there.
