good to hear. you know, we love those charming British accents.
where I live, there are a fair amount of 'across the big pond' accents.  enjoy your new home.

Awesome news, Oli!  Now, the 2 yr wait.  We had the conditions removed on hubby's this past June.  This upcoming June he can apply for citizenship.  You can only appreciate the complex series of hoops, forms and fees if you've gone through it.

thisisoliposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Ahh so I can apply for citizenship a year after I get full residency? I was pretty sure that was correct, there are so many ifs and buts involved though it can get surprisingly difficult to figure out the process!

      1. KCC Big Country profile image83
KCC Big Countryposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Yes, you can apply for citizenship with 3 yrs of permanent residency and being married to the US citizen for the same 3 years.

        LOL.....

Do you find the Texas small towns to be similar to what you see in the movies too?  My husband does.  He thought they only existed in the movies too.

        UK doesn't have fire hydrants?

ryankettposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Ours are underground, you lift up a small drain and attach a hose to the mains that way, rather than to a 'hydrant'.

    Thanks for all the congratulations.

Small Texas towns can indeed be a little creepy!

My interest in Fish and Chips extends only to eating them. I remember seeing the blistered scarred hands of the people who worked in our local chippys, would not want that to happen to me!

Out of interest Oli, how did you get one? Is your partner American? You are marrying her right?

A friend of mine has a green card as a result of marrying an American lady and having a child with that lady, is your situation similar?

    1. thisisoli profile image71
