I really want to create quality hubs: I have just started my hubpages "career" and have tried targeting a few niches (with hearing loss and GIMP photo editor tutorials as the groups with the most hubs right now).

How can I improve on the quality of my hubs? I am not sure which hub to post as an example, though this one is currently a contender for hubnugget of the week:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/What-Is-the-New … ening-Test

I have actually earned a small amount of revenue (less than $2, but I wasn't expecting anything for a while). I do want to ensure my hubs are high quality, as I hope they will generate more as they "mature."

Thank you for any help you are able to provide!

I reviewed your hub and have one suggestion-

The picture you have needs to be moved out of prime Google adsense ad space.

My recommendation is to add one text capsule, remove the last paragraph of your first text capsule and insert that paragraph into the text capsule you add.

You should have enough text in the first text capsule to trigger Google adsense ad for placement next to it.

The picture of the little child can be moved down one position. It should line up with the newly added text capsule. This will give you a different effect for ad spacing.

I only say that because presently your secondary ad spaces come after your second text capsule. Doing what I said above, would move up those ad spaces, higher up toward the beginning of the hub.

I hope I explained that well enough to help. smile

First, your hub is very well written. You have taken the care to proofread and write grammatically, which I am certain seems obvious to you or you would not have done as fine a job as you have, but you'll be shocked to discover how many don't. So, very nice.

Next, it reads clearly, your language and diction are engaging but not beyond the layman's ability to follow what you are saying. You don't speak above or beneath the reader, and that topic could easily have gone either way were you not as careful as you were. Again, nice work.

Your topic is very specific, so you have chosen well.

The only criticism I would give you is that you shouldn't come into the forums and tell people what niches you have discovered, because, frankly, there are people who will just go do all the keyword research around your terms and crank out crappy stuff to compete with you. So, if you find a good niche, gaurd it like the little mini-treasure it is.

Also, I think you could do with some links to academic, government and any groups or organizational websites that deal with your topic. So that if someone came across your article read it and was really, really interested, you could point them to where the deeper reading is. Google likes when you do that too.

YOu could probably come up with at least five to ten more tags too.

Bottom line, this hub is excellent work and you are absolutely certain to do well at HubPages if you keep doing what you just did and are patient.

I really, really appreciate the feedback! I'm off to edit the hub's general layout to improve the ad location. I have run across several hubs with terrible spelling/grammar: I had no idea people would take my niche and start churning out rubbish. Thanks for the heads-up!
