Shoebox full of Sports Cards

   In the beginning of the 1990's, or a little earlier, I began collecting Baseball, Football, Nascar cards. Yesterday, I went through the box and Half of the players are in the Hall of Fame today. The cards i have range from John Smoltz rookie card, Johnny Damon rookie card, a Lou Gehrig baseball card, Dale Earnhart Sr. winning a 1992 race, David Robinson Basketball card,Charles Barkley Basketball Card, Mike Mussina rookie card,Chuck Finley Rookie card,a Darryl Strawberry rookie card with the Mets,Paul Molitor rookie card,Greg Gagne Baseball card,Dennis Eckersley card, a Joe Girardi rookie card who now manages the Yankees and many, many more. I would put them on E-Bay, but these cards got to be valuable. My question is what would you do?

      I would get ahold of the most recent Beckett's for the sports you have cards for (price guide). Find out what your collection is really worth. Then go to a card shop and get the plastic sleeves and plastic cases to protect the cards.
      
      If the value is impressive and you want to hold on to them, take pictures
      of each one (just in case) and put them in a safety deposit box at the bank. 
      
      If you want to sell them,  look up what each card is going for on Ebay. Then go to a Sports card shop and see what they would give you for them.
      
      pick whichever is higher.

            I actually had a small ebay business where I sold collectable cards.  Over here in the UK I am sure the prices are different so I may be completely wrong about this.  However, in the UK cards from the early 90's are not worth anything.  You have to go back to at least the 70's before they start rising in value. 
            Maybe it's different over there but I wouldn't get your hopes up to much.  I also had loads of cards and sticker albums from early 90's, they were worth so little that I hung on to them. 
            Hope I'm wrong though!
