   "The Lies We Tell Ourselves Before We Tell You...... (part 1)"

   Men are strange creatures indeed.
   Although, just like women, we bleed and feel emotions,
   And have a need for affection to be felt and to be spoken,
   We will never concede to this.
   Fully rejecting the notion,
   Even though we, most likely, honestly know it.
   So, it seems reasonable and logical to us,
   To brush this shit off as nothing much,
   And settle for telling ourselves lies to hide the real us.
   
   We usually try to conceal the true meaning of our lies inside
   Unspecified words and statements;
   Making excuses.
   Describing them with useless words of reason
   Just to be in line with what the male ego personifies.
   When, in essence, all we’re doing is denying the Most High’s design.
   Essentially calling our Heavenly Father a lie.
   Now please, if you are, don’t be surprised.
   I’m simply attempting to make it clear to you
   What all men go through.
   
   For instance,
   I don’t know how to make phrases like,
   “I can’t face reality”. sound manly enough.
   Or how does “I can be a little shaky at times”,
   Guarantee me that some girl will fine me appealing?
   Even when I have a heard time dealing with physical confrontation.
   I’m afraid of making a mistake, so most times I wait…
   On what…..I have no clue.
   But, wait I’ll do until I’m sure I should do something else
   Or until doing noting else is the only thing available
   And the one thing apparently obvious.
   
   I’m probably just afraid to commit.
   Or deep down inside, I know I ain’t shit.
   I mostly try to get in where I fit
   To keep from being responsible for my responsibilities.
   Or silly me, I’m just lazy,
   A single level shy of crazy
   And a yellow bellied fraidy cat.
   And maybe saying that would suffice,
   But just the tip of the ice burg.
   There are a whole lot of other words
   That describe what really goes on inside the mind;
   In a man’s head.
   Most of us are led to believe that a man is supposed to be
   Rough, real, hard and rigid.
   Definitely about his business.
   But what that is, is some nonsense bullshit
   That some male chauvinist man bitch said

      Feel free to make it a hub. it is definitely a beginning of a body of work.  Read it occasionally to see if it said everything you wished it to with as much brevity as you intended.

   Holy poo on toast. i can relate to this so much. When i smile when im scared. and i laugh off things that hurt. Women are as much a lie as men are - according to yyour poem at least. Well said.
