ImChemist welcome to the HubPages community.  I would suggest you re-think your strategy for embracing this community.

You are not the first new hubber to pose this question, which tends to evoke anything but a sense of "fun" in the veterans.

This kind of question will not make you popular in the school yard.  And we all open ourselves up to judgement when we enter the forums, write hubs, etc.

Google Trends will not give you keywords but it will tell you what topics and searches are popular at the moment.

    http://www.google.com/trends

It is of no use to me as I cannot work up the enthusiasm to write on 'hot topics'.

Working with Google trends is hard work , because most of this trends are news and its very hard to compete with that big news sites , which most of them have PR above 5 and have 1000s of backlinks.

        Actuall, ImChemist is correct.

It might have results in Google. But as far as searches go, it would be as close to zero as one can get.

If anyone revealed a truly great keyword, it would cease to be one within 24 hours. That's why people keep them a secret when they find them. For the most part, the "super keywords" are a thing of the past and values have sort of leveled out as competition became fierce.

I wonder how much money the first person to realize "mesothelioma" was a blockbuster keyword made. That's one of those very small niches that happens to have a lot of money in it (thanks to multi-million dollar class action lawsuits). Law firms at one time were paying over $100 per click for these terms, because a new client could mean hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra revenue for them. Then in a matter of months there were a million different websites about mesothelioma, and it became nearly impossible to get anywhere near the top of the SERPs. As the leads became poorer, the law firms offered less money per click, until "mesothelioma" became a downright terrible keyword to target because of high competition and dwindling value per click. Mesothelioma is still a small niche in the real-world, but it's got a huge presence online as everyone got greedy and starting going after the big advertising bucks.

I have to say I was lucky to hit on it.  I was typing an article about measles and was a bit, how do you say it, stoned at the time - and I did one of the worst typos ever.  Didn't notice of course because the giant bong was obscuring my view of the page, and I published it.

Made an absolute fortune.  I only type on here now as a rest from spending money.

people who ask these kind of questions are lazy people. In order to make money, you have to do the work.

use keyword tool from google to find your best keywords.
