Hmmmm I'm going to cheat and say I'd buy a multi vitamins and minerals combo in one! lol

Probably fish oil because of the difficulty, inconvenience and relative economic cost (salmon, freshwater cod etc. is expensive to eat regularly) of taking it supplementally versus via diet.

Protein and multi-vitamins are easier to get in via the diet in the required amounts with some effort.

I live in an area that is sunshine challenged so-to-speak so Vitamin D is really helpful for winter depression.

Whey Protein Blend. Taste great, works well and is a quick mix.

This is my rant for the day… smile

    A year ago a bottle of multivitamins/minerals cost ~$6.

That same bottle now costs ~$10.

When it comes to medical thievery, it is literally everywhere.

    And no end in sight.

You do realize that Aloe Vera Juice, isn't actually a supplement? hmm

Yeah!  But I don't actually take any supplements and I buy that from the Health Food Shop, so I thought it would be suitable!  xxx

It would have been Vitamin C before I came to this land of unbelievably cheap fruit, and meals that are mostly veg - now I am eating properly I wouldn't bother with any supplement

i would take omega oil supplements - they help the brain, the heart, stimulate blood circulation..they even help to decrease chances of clots in the blood and lower the blood pressure..

if that wasn't enough, they also help with arthritic joints and some evidence has recently turned up suggesting that they can be helpful in cases of depression/anxiety..

all thanks to God i don't suffer from any of those conditions mentioned above, but hypothetically speaking omega oils would be my supplement of choice..

I would always buy multivitamin first. Other than that omega-3 capsules since I just learn how important they are to our health.

Juice Plus without a doubt - 17 ripe fruits and vegatables plus grains all in a couple of capsules. Full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients - nothing synthetic, all natural and the next best thing to fresh fruits and veggies. I could go on and on about how much I believe in Juice Plus - but I won't. smile

Coral Calcium ~  It replenishes blood cells.  For example:  Cancer treatment usually consists of chemo and/or radiation which eliminates cancer cells but also good blood cells at the same time.  Coral calcium helps reproduce red blood cells at a faster rate which in turn can and has sped up recovery in many cases.  A family member had a cancerous tumor the size of a nerf football that was inoperable.  She took 2,000 mg coral calcium every day along with prescribed treatments of chemo, radiation, radiation implants and radiation boosters.  After 5 1/2 months there was no sign of tumor.  The surgery that had been scheduled to remove whatever was left of tumor was cancelled.  She has been cancer free ever since!

I dislike this question because I have to only pick 1.  I'll go with fish oil because it is very much so the "holy grail" of supplements.  it contributes to basically every body function.  If I could form a list it would be fish oil, multi vitamin, atleast 3000-5000 iu's of D3 daily.

    Hands down Vitamin C.
    Why?
    Read up on Linus Pauling.
He was one of only four people to have won more than one Nobel Prize.
And yeah, he did finally die of cancer.
    At the age of 93.

Holy H%&#!  I can only choose 1? Well then I would have to say I can't do without my fish oil? Interesting note- my husband's quack (my word for doctor) wanted to put him on statins for hypertension. I put him on flaxseed oil and fish oil and his blood pressure dropped from 142/87 (Average reading) to 127/68!!

Wow that is a hard one to decide.  It is tough to pick between a good multivitamin or fish oil.  Which I believe I would choose a multivitamin because you can also just eat more sardines to get tons of fish oil.

Cindi, Being in the Nutrition business, I work  with several companies, if you wish to E-Mail me, I will be glad to supply you with a web-site for the one that produces the Body Balance. (They have several products, each being formulated for a particular need, the majority are liquid.) You can then get a sample if you wish, and try it for yourself.

The best supplement for me is the one I need most at the time. Often that's vitamin C. I take a few grams a day. Othertimes it could be hemp oil or magnesium.

I would buy a multivitamin supplement because it covers all the vitamins and minerals we do not necessarily receive in our typical daily diets, even if we are eating a balanced meal with all the included food groups. Some vitamins are destroyed in the cooking process.

If I'm going to buy one health supplement, I would go for something that contains spirulina. You know why? Coz' spirulina is considered to be a "super food" that contains lots of natural elements.
