As I posted earlier in this Religion Forum topic, the Christian Evangelical movement is in a downward spiral. Many Evangelicals have missed their calling and many Americans are just simply fed up. I, for one fall into this category. It appears the downscale of this movement has caused many churches to suffer in these economical times. I think this is a good thing. There might be hope for us yet. I feel that places of worship are mere theatrical stages to take money from the poor to the rich. Church is a business endeavor. And now the recession is finally bringing this truth out. Churches aren't about GOD, they are businesses focused on the bottomline.

I agree with you completely. And I would also like to add that I think a truly religious experience is a solitary one, or one that includes a group of sincere individuals who simply want to worship together for the sake of worshipping. I wish more people would realize this.
i just want to share something...
there is a new generation of Elijah's, Joseph's and modern day Pauls that are being brought up.
they have not bowed down to "baal" or other gods. They are brought up
with a simple message to share the gospel, heal the sick, give to the poor.
They are the "do-nothings' of this world-the outcasts that people have rejected and cast off to the side. They do not have those high paying jobs, in fact you could find them preaching on street corners. this is the life they chose, the rejection of this world, anticipation of a new one.
The fact remains, the Lord is coming soon, he is coming back for his own - and those that are left will remain for the final tribulation. It is a fact - not from someones imagination,
many will remain - in fact many of the christians will remain, when they realize they weren't living right, well - they will surely rise to the occasioin during the greatest trials ever on earth.
those that were caught up in the upward spiral of theatrical stages, an easy way to make money - well God is well aware of this fact. He knows our inward thoughts, motive behind every thought.
But I want to add that the Lord does bless and reward those that are living rightous lives, they may have many troubles - but its a spiritual battle and its a battle that is won already by Jesus.
Its a war of choosing the right thing to do it, the bible is our coach book, helps us live the way we ought to be living. In the fear of a Holy God, In fear of living a rightous life, accepting Jesus as our Savior and Lord in our lives.
Interesting word, rightous - had me wondering if you meant righteous or maybe riotous. I prefer the second option myself
