Stuck on a Tropical Island and you can only bring 5 items...

   So here are the rules.
   
   The Island is abundant with life, but is completely uninhabitated by humans. You have to go there to escape death from a gang of drug barons (or insert your own reason there) and will be there for 1 year at least.
   
   The captain who has offered to drop you off at the uncharted Island has told you that you have to travel light. You can only bring five items with you. Anything that would cost more then $500.00 by itself is not allowed.
   
   You are currently wearing a pair of cargo pants, and a plain black cotton t-shirt with sturdy leather work boots.
   
   I would bring the following items:
   
   1. Swiss Army Knife
   2. Shovel
   3. Woolen Blanket
   4. Coil of Rope
   5. A couple of square metres of Sailing Canvas
   
   What items would you bring?

   1) 5 x $100 an hour hookers
   2) $500 worth of bottled water
   3) A $500 tombstone
   4) A shovel
   5) A wooden coffin
   
   I would sleep with the hookers (paying them in water when the first hour ran out) until I died from exhaustion.

      Oh I totally forgot fire. I'm not enjoying my first night on the Island. Lucky I know how to rub two sticks together...wonder how long it will take me before I figure out how to start a fire doing that though haha?

   1. a Swiss army knife sounds like a good idea
   2. a fire-starter of some kind (flint? lol  no clue, I wasn't a scout)
   3. a sleeping bag w/attached pillow
   4. paper & pen/pencils to record my experiences
   5. camera and film to visually record my experiences & existence.

   2. A cool box filled with beer and cucumber sandwiches
   
   3. A little rainbow-coloured wind breaker that I wouldn't bother putting up.
   
   4. A copy of the most recent Viz magazine
   
   5. A large boat, so I could head home at the end of the day, drunk and sunburnt.

    Wow!  Really makes one think...only 5 things.  OK here we go:
    
    1. Tarp
    2. blanket
    3. change of underwear
    4. a book of short stories..or perhap a Bible...good way to read it in a year

    hmmmmm...well...
    
    1.  a man - smart (not a nerd tho); lots of vitality;, etc....etc....etc. and with sturdy leather work boots already on (and no whining allowed)
    2.  2 horses - beautiful ones too! (mare and stallion - 3-4 years old)
    3.  knife (a really, really good one)
    4.  material (lots of beautiful colors and various types)(we'll just need sarongs most of the time and something to keep the sun off)
    5.  seeds (in case the island doesn't naturally grow my favourite veggies/fruit (oats for the horses too)
    
    ...oh yea, none of the above will cost more than $500....most of it is donated except the knife; and/or just wanting to come along for the ride (e.g. the guy and the horses)....and i might just stay longer than a year......that works for me....

    A .22 cal. scoped rifle with a case of rounds...
    A Gerber survival knife with flint attachment...
    A fully stocked First-Aid kit with medicinal Brandy...
    A snorkel and spear-gun kit...
    
    I'm assuming that since there are animals on the island there must be fresh water sources, and edible fruits and tubers...
    
    The Kindle for entertainment, the rifle for meat, the Gerber for skinning and fire starting, the First-Aid kit for contingencies, and the snorkel kit for fresh fish...
    
    I would build my own shelter, probably above ground...

    1) lots of canned food
    2) a tin opener
    3) a water purifier (saltwater to freshwater)
    4) various seeds of plants which grow edible fruits (for when the canned food runs out)
    5) a fishing rod
    
    Food and water, thats all that we need, I would have a go at making fire from twigs to cook the fish.

    an automatic inflating boat (as sturdy as 500 dollars can buy)
    
    does the oar count as an item?
    
    a solar powered radio (for when I use the boat to get off the island after the year is done...since no one mentioned that we would have a ride back after that year!)
    
    some kind of special material jacket with a hood and visor that is waterproof and warm or cool as needed
    
    the best multi-use knife 500 dollars can buy
    
    and if the oar didn't count as an item--the last thing would be...a weather proof journal to write in (with pens)...so I don't go crazy
