Hi,
If you have had the misfortune of reading my other thread about Google disabling my adsense account because I am a prize idiot then you will know; me and affiliate programs are having a bad time.
I have now signed up for Kontera, which I assume will hit my Hubs in about 24 hours but my next problem/headache is this.
Some of my hubs are sales orientated some are not, each one is displaying google ads on there but not to my benefit, should I add an additinal capsule Amazon, Video etc in the prime ad spot (top right)to get rid of these ads or should I leave them for now in case the Google problem some how get's resolved?
I ask because I have spent so many hours on trying to resolve Google that I really don't want to waste anymore time if they do end up un disabling my account, what would you do?
If you are showing google ads then you must still have an adsense account ?? or they would not be showing up there - or would they ?
Yes they would, they would show 100% Hubpages impressions. They show unless you make your Hub 'non-commercial', in which case you would not be able to have Amazon capsules or Kontera links.
AAh right !thanks for that info. Is it also correct that hubs below 75 score do not rank for adsense etc? if that is indeed the case then the ads that still appear over them must be 100% Hubs then ?
I'd leave them in place for now. Your situation may get resolved, and then you'd need want to go back and change them all.
Maybe on sales hubs where appropriate you could switch them out for amazon/ebay modules.
Your situation as described in the other thread was pretty scary to me. I don't always know exactly what I'm doing, and it'd suck to have my account suspended over some dumb little mistake.
Hope you get it resolved!
Of course if you wanted to take the time, you could also make sure all are set to minimal ad display, just to help limit the now non-beneficial page leaks.
Might be easier than fiddling with layouts you'd have to fix again later should your adsense return.
If you have sales hubs selling Amazon products then I would go all out to target amazon on those hubs and forget worrying about adsense. For me on my sales hubs I find the money I get from just a few amazon sales is substantially more than even triple the amount from adsense clicks. That's why I started writing so many sales hubs - the traffic I get is more of a buying sort and the conversion rate is quite good.
However, that won't work for information hubs in my opinion, only out and out sales.
Great advice, I think that is the avenue I am going down.
Thank You:)
Aiden I wouldn't do anything rashly like going non-commercial with your hubs. After stuff like yesterday happens I try not to over react (which I usually do). Just give HP the adsense and work on the other programs.
Write great sales hubs featuring Amazon products, and you might just be surprised at how much money you can make.
Make your own site and move into the world of thousands of affiliate programs. Most of which have affiilate managers, who will work with you - and not ignore you.
You might even make more money than you made with adsense and Amazon. It's a big money-making world out there.

I think I have over reacted, in fact I have been manic because i think it's all been my stupid fault.
I am going to redo my sales hubs, they may even be an improvement.
I have joined Kontera, Chitika and am looking at others so hopefully that will limit the damage.
Can I say that you have been very helpful, supportive and understanding for which I am very grateful. I think last night was my lowest ebb on Hubpages and I have realised that I was a bit obsessive about adsense when in fact it is one of many opportunities to explore.
It will really get my goat though if I make all these changes and they reinstate the account
I am sure there will be a positive outcome and I am glad I had the support of Hubbers who really stopped me spitting my dummy out and giving up.
It probably won't be the last "stupid" thing that you'll do. I have a long list to look back on. It was a few of the stupid things that lead me to HubPages - and that's worked out great!
There's always someplace else to make some $$$. Here's to the future!
Anybody use adbrite, if so is it worth using on blogger?
Yes - and some places to make a bit extra on top of what you are already doing - I have a hub that is asking for affiliate writers . . .

I received a notice about being charged to keep my Amazon affiliate program active if I have no sales in 90 days. I'm sure others share this issue. Since I agreed to use Amazon under Hubpages program ID, I do earn more commission but now I may be charged due to my own ID isn't producing income.Is...

I was wondering if my fellow hubbers could answer a question for me. Which affiliate program has made the most money for YOU and why? BTW, this is my first post, although I've replied to a bunch of posts so far. In case you're wondering what my answer is, it would be "none"...

So ... Google did not approve me for the google adsense program that I applied a week ago.I read quite a few articles before I really applied for the program, but what I THINK, that may be the reason for the disapproval is that I've only 3 hubs right now (At the time of application, there were only...
