I have never had a art critic gaze upon my work, I would like to hear the truth about my art, can I make it as an artist?
My lecturers at college don't really say too much about an individuals work. I don't know if this is so they don't show favoritism in students or whether it is to stop people getting too exited about their work.
The thing is it can be deflating not getting straight answers about your work.
If a critic or lecturer wants to assess my work it is on IanHudsonFineArt.

Not a critic or a lecturer - does that count or do you need Picasso to tell you what is good.
My opinion, you are a very good artist. My experience with art teachers is also that they are of little help in
guidance. I did at one time know the answer to that but can't recall it right now.
The question might be are you going for the money or content. Most art that sells is devoid of content because people don't understand it. They buy wall paper. If you are going for depth
you will probably be poor. Depth involves something you want to explore,
learn and say. You have to go into the innards of yourself and see if there is anything there. You have the skills to render whatever might be found. Foremost is a love and passion for the doing of it. Techniques for the discover of content are a whole 'nother
story and may involve a total commitment.

At present I am trying to find my own style and direction. I have to work on the brief given to me, so I don't get to explore my own creations.
That's the thing, if you want to make money, you have to tap into the mainstream or get sponsored. As for the passion, ask my wife, I drive her nuts with my constant art conversations. haha.

It's a site where you submit pictures free for others to simply look at and give you feedback. The 'others' are other artists who also want feedback and to have somewhere to show their work. I quite like it. www.paintingsilove.com
or find it through my website, www.junemcewan.biz
